Lush Henna Hair Color Review

Back in January around my birthday, my best friend brought me Lush's Henna to try and to review for my blog. She said I would enjoy the Henna treatment because she has previously used it. I finally got around to using the Henna and was at my local Lush store earlier. I have read about others using Henna and reading mixed reviews on it. I had a thought of what Henna was in my mind before trying it out for myself.

Here is a picture of the Henna Hair Color

Henna is the natural way to color your hair and gives it a great conditioning treatment. I love that Lush has all natural ingredients in this Henna. Directly from the Lush website:" We use the finest Persian henna; the leaves are dried and ground into a powder and mixed with conditioning cocoa butter, which forms the basis of our Cacas. Organic lemon juice helps to bring out the redness and gives hair shine and lustre. You’re left with stunning, shiny and healthy-looking hair."

The Henna that is pictured is if you want a reddish color to your hair. They have 4 different colors you can choose from, Deep Chestnut,Red, Rich Brown and Dark Black. Now you can do the Henna treatment at home but it is suggested that you have the staff at the Lush store do it for you the first time.

I absolutely love my Lush store location. The staff there is always so friendly and welcoming. They are really knowledgeable about the products in the store and are always willing to give you a demonstration of any product you want to try. Here is a picture of my Lush store, well a part of it:

You would have to make an appointment to come into the store to have them put the Henna in your hair. It was kinda crazy sitting in the store having this done as people were strolling on by lol! They put tarp down and a cape around you. The henna is broken up into pieces and placed into a small crock pot. They slowly add water to help melt the henna down. It should be the consistency of brownie mix and you shouldn't have any lumps. My hair surprisingly only needed one brick. I came there with my hair sectioned off and detangled to make the process easier.First they would apply a hair balm around your head so the henna doesn't stain your skin then the employee worked section by section to apply the henna to my head. I would recommend taking some aspirin before going because this really weighted my hair down and it felt so heavy!! The process for me took about an hour. After the henna was applied, she put saran wrap around all of my hair and I was finished. She gave me great tips on how to wash it out and how long to leave it in for. Yes, I walked through the mall looking all crazy but I didn't mind too much lol!!

Now comes the fun part, washing it out! I left it my hair for two and a half hours. I took the saran wrap off and rinsed my hair for a bit to loosen the henna. I started to freak out because I saw it all over my shower and was hoping it wouldn't stain or be hard to clean!! Next I used some some conditioner to help break up the henna and rinse it out. I immediately felt how soft and manageable my hair was! After using the conditioner twice, I shampooed my hair twice and used conditioner again. It really took a while to rinse and cleanse my hair. It felt like you were trying to wash a ton of sand out of your hair!! It felt like I was never going to get this stuff out of my hair but it all came out and it did not stain the shower!!

I love how my hair feels! Its super soft and was so easy to deal with. My hair does look lighter and I see the red on my ends the most. Maybe I can get a better picture of my hair when the sun is out again but I just love my hair!

I would recommend trying this out for yourself! Each brick is 25.95 and well worth it! I would use this again, my friend brought me two bricks so I have another one for next time! I'm not sure if I would try it at home but eventually I will.

Hope you enjoyed this review. Have you try Henna before? What was your experience with it? Comment below and let me know!!

Make Beauty Review*

Happy Friday beauty lovers! I hope you have been enjoying Winter again lol! I hope Mother Nature gets it together soon lol. Today I am bringing you another review powered by BrandBacker! *I was sent these products for testing purposes and this is my opinion after using. Let's get into the reviews! *Powered By BrandBacker* I was pretty excited when I was picked for this campaign. I have tried a Make Beauty eyeshadow before and loved it. Honestly, I was expecting the samples to be a little bigger. I was a little disappointed in the lipstick sample, it was hard to use. It kept breaking when I was trying to apply it. Make Beauty is a very new company to me that I was introduced to through Birchbox.  They have just about everything from eyeshadows to contour kits. They also have a line for skincare as well. Alabaster Eyeshadow This shadow on the Make Beauty site is described as a soft eggshell with peach undertones. This shadow is a matte and can be used as a brow

Sometimes its hard.....

You know when you keep thinking of something and you just feel like you have to get it out? That was me before sitting down to write this post. I had something else planned to write but I kept thinking...sometimes its hard and it just evolved from there. We all heard the sayings, life isn't fair, life is hard and so on. Sometimes life can be hard but we don't experience it for long. There are so many things that I want to do but I know I can't do a million things at once. I can't just pick and go anymore, I'm someone's parent now. There are times I want to but I know things have to be planned out now. I will get to those place I want to go, just have to be patient and plan it out. It seems like we focus so much on what is hard about life that we forget about the easy stuff. We forget sometimes about all the good things that happen and to be grateful for getting through those rough patches. You may not like your living situation but you have a roof over
