The Resolute Beauty Blogger

Resolute Beauty Blogger June 2014 Last month I did a post on my blogging and personal goals. You can find the original post  here.  +Tanya  from  Leopard Lace and Cheesecake  asked if I wanted to join in on this post and I agreed! I know they post their results towards the beginning of the month. Hi Ladies!  Beauty Bloggers Shalunya from  Shalunya and Boyet  and El from  Glossy Glam Blog  teamed up to create The Resolute Beauty Blogger. They wanted to do this to not only stay on track with their Beauty Blog Resolutions for 2014 but also to give other beauty bloggers the chance to join in on the action.  Here are my goals and updates on each: Blogging Goals: 1. Set a Blogging Schedule: This was one of the first things I did. I was blogging whenever I had a free moment and it just got a little crazy. I now post on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday and it makes it so much easier! I can schedule post ahead of time and just be more organized! 2. Change Up The Style

Mani/Pedi Routine and DIY Hand and Foot Scrub

Hey guys!! This post is going to be on my Mani and Pedi routine that I do at home. Also in this post will be my DIY Hand and Foot scrub that I have been using and loving! I used to go to the nail salon all the time and to save some pennies, I decided to give it a try at home. I felt like a pro after watching the nail technicians do it so many times. I love doing this at home because it is so relaxing and you're saving money. Plus it gives your practice at trying out nail designs. The only thing I wish I had at home was the massage chair! I try to do my mani/pedi once a week, sometimes I don't for two weeks. Here are the products I use. I normally start with the pedicure. I do all this in my bathroom. 1. I fill up my tub with warm water and put in my Heel to Toe Invigorating Foaming Foot Soak. I got this Sally's and love it. It smells so good and makes you feel relaxed. 2. I take off any polish that may be still on my nails with Target Brand Nail Polish Remover. I

I didn't realize I had so many and discovered some of my old favorites that I need to start using again. So lets get into this post!! I separated each shadow by colors to make it a little easier. New Hair Products and Reviews

Hey guys!! I purchased these two hair products about a month ago and here to do a review on each of them. Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk As you can tell from the bottle, I've been using this a lot. It has become a new favorite of mine. I saw a friend of mine use this one her YouTube channel and I had to go try it out. I was previously using Cantu Shea Butter Hair Milk and I like the texture of the Shea Moisture better. It is kind of thick but perfect for keeping my hair moisturized and soft. I use this when I first style my hair after washing and then use daily towards the end of the week. It really helps my hair stay moisturized with the humidity and heat. This product can be found at Target for 10. Elasta QP Olive Oil and Mango Butter Leave In Conditioner I was previously using Cantu's Shea Butter leave in conditioner and used it all up. I know there are so many products out there and I wanted to try something new. I used the cu

Hey guys! Please excuse my appearance in this video, you can actually see how I can be mistaken for a teenager lol!!It was just one of those mornings were I didn't feel like throwing on any makeup, just wanted to give my skin a breather. Here is what I got in my Ipsy and Birchbox and also my Birchbox Plus item! What did you get in your beauty boxes this month? Comment below and let me know!

No Buy is Officially Over!!

Yay!! I survived 2 months without a single makeup purchase!! I am so proud of myself and knew I had the will power to do it!! It really helped me staying out of Sephora, Ulta and Mac, the usual places that get me in trouble lol! When I went into Target or Walmart, I wouldn't even go near the makeup section. Funny thing is, I haven't run to the store yet to purchase anything on my wish list yet but I will soon. You can see what is on my wish list here.  After organizing my makeup, I realized I have a lot of products that I don't use and need to try out soon. I'm going to try to really shop my stash before running out and buying something new. Maybe next time, I will go for a 3 month no buy!! Have you successfully completed a no buy? What is currently on your wish list? Comment below and let me know!! ~** Drea Notes**~ We went to the beach today and I'm so glad we did! It was such a fun day with the family!! I'm trying to get back to working out lol!

Brown Box Hair Product Reviews

Hey guys! I'm back with another post in this series. I used these products when I washed my hair last week. This review is going to be on a few products from Nothing But Hair line. There was a sample pack with shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and styling products that I was really interested in trying out. I loved that it didn't contain any parabins, sulfates or other harsh minerals that can be damaging to your hair. Everything that I'm about to review can be found directly on the company website and in Sally's, Walmart and Rite Aid. Nothing But Clarifying Shampoo and Cleansing Conditioner After washing out my hair treatment, I started with the shampoo. A little goes a long way with this product. I didn't need too much of the shampoo to cleanse my hair. It lathered up really nice and made my hair feel really clean and soft. It also smelled so amazing. I used the conditioner after the shampoo and there wasn't enough in the sample pack for me. I like t

On a personal note...Father's Day

Dad is always that one man that will always be in your life. Other men come and go but he is there in your life forever. My dad is another person who had a lot of influence over me and taught me a lot of things. It was crazy when I started to get an allowance, he had me tracking my finances. I'm thinking "What do I need this for? All I buy is candy and barbie stuff!!" But it was a valuable lesson I needed to learn and I'm grateful for that. I knew how to put money away to save and track how much I was spending. I was able to save over $4000 for my first car which I couldn't believe that I did. He was always reading to me and teaching me things about life and how to survive in the real world. I can be shy sometimes but I remember my dad would always send me into the fast food restaurant to order our food. I used to hate going inside but it taught me how to talk to people and not be so shy. I didn't understand why at that time but I do now. I guess that's th

Men's Subscriptions Boxes

Hey guys!! Did you know that there are subscription boxes for men?? This post is going to be about the few that I have found and have given as a gift. Birchbox for Men I current subscribe to Birchbox and I noticed that there is a monthly subscription for men. I got a three month gift for my boyfriend and he really liked it. I like how Birchbox will send an email and get a profile on what the guy likes and caters the remaining boxes based off the information given. They gave a lot of great skincare items, colognes samples and other things men would use. I was really impressed with what Birchbox sent. The monthly subscription is $20 a month and I think it would be worth it. You should try a 3 month gift first to see if you like what gets sent to you and if you like it, then just sign up. Now the guys don't have to feel left out when out monthly boxes come lol!! You can see more about Birchbox for Men  here. Five Four Club Can't believe I found a clothing subscription for

Men's Skincare

Hey guys. With Father's Day coming up this Sunday, I thought I would dedicate a few posts to the men out there. One of my friends asked me months ago about doing post for the guys and I thought this month would be great. This post is going to be about skincare. I know a lot of men ask why we use all these products and have too much stuff lol! I know I get asked that by my boyfriend lol! I think that men should have a skincare regimen like we do. They probably won't need as many steps and products as we do but should still have products that help keep their skin looking good. This routine is kinda based off what I have purchased for the man in my life and how he takes care of his skin. You guys can take from it and make it your own. First thing in facial care is cleansing. You should find a good facial cleanser that helps remove dirt and cleanse the skin. I purchased Dove Men Care Face Wash and it is a really good cleanser. My boyfriend really likes how it makes his skin fe

Updated: How I currently store my makeup

Hey guys! Back in January, I took everyone through my entire, well majority of my makeup collection. I showed how I used to store my makeup. You can see that original post  here.  I had everything stored in my empty Birchboxes. It was working for a while until I went to two makeup shows and I didn't have a place for everything! As I was cleaning one day, I saw that had this tall storage bin with stuff that I don't even use anymore and thought it would be a great place to store all my makeup and still have it organized. Here is a picture of where my makeup is currently stored. I believe I purchased this 7 drawer unit at Walmart years ago and glad I kept it! It has come in handy. I'll take you through what is in each drawer. I'll start with the top of the unit where all my brushes, setting sprays (that I haven't used yet lol), OCC lip tars( I couldn't find anything to store them in but that red cup lol. I'll have to decorate it later.) and other items

Review on Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Damned

Hey guys! I've had a pretty busy day. I've been cleaning and organizing my room most of the day. I've been finding things that I've been looking for and found things I forgot about lol! Well this post is a review on the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil I purchased a while ago. This is my first purchase by Nars!! I know, lol! I've been hearing so much about it but never really made a purchase. After seeing a few friends wearing the products and reading great reviews by my fellow bloggers, I decided to give something a try. I was so surprised I spent 25.00 on this lip pencil but it was so worth it!! There were so many colors to choose from and I decided to go with Damned, which is described as rich magenta on the Nars website. Here is a swatch of it. This Nars lip pencil is one of the best ones I've ever tried!! I love how rich the color is and how moisturizing it is. Some matte lip products I've tried have made my lips feel dry but not this one. It fe
