On A Personal Note...

I sat here looking at a blank screen for a while trying to figure out how to start this post lol. It happens sometimes when you feel a little stuck on how to start. I've been adjusting a lot to my new position and duties at work. I love being closer to home and saving money traveling in state. I can now be home to do homework and have dinner with my family. I can also cook dinner if I want. I'm just so thankful that worked really hard to get into this position and didn't give up. I wanted more of a challenge and wanted something different. I have been really focused on learning this position, asking a lot of questions, making sure I understand everything and so on. When I first started, I kind of knew about the position from my previous position and knew what I was about to step into. I had people tell me about the position and how it can be and wanted to make sure I could handle it. I know people meant well but once someone doubts I can do something, I feel like I need to...

Being patient is key....

My fiance sent this to me a while ago on Instagram and I have reposted this myself. (And excuse the language in this one) This really spoke to me and I have been quiet about a few things that have been going on. I don't tell everyone moves that I'm making because there are those who will try to talk you out of it or tell you that you can't accomplish that.  I can finally say that after a lot of hard work, I got a promotion at work!!! I wanted to wait until it was official but I am super excited for this new job! I actually applied for this job three times and I guess third time is the charm. After this position came up again, I was so over it and ready to give into defeat. People understood my reasoning but encouraged me not to give up so easily. I really, really appreciate those that encouraged me, didn't let me give up and talked me out of not trying again. My manager even helped me prep for the interview which I went in more confidently and did so well...

On A Personal Note...

I had another post planned for today but I'm not sure what was up with my laptop and the pictures downloading super slow. I got a little impatient and wasn't going to write anything but something just came to me. It seems like there is so much going on right now, it is hard to see anything that is positive in the world. It just seems like everything is so crazy and out of control. I know a lot of people feel fear, anger, sadness and hurt. I just felt so inspired after attending The Fearless Conference. It was great to be around so many women and no one was talking about each other in a negative way, everyone was super sweet, down to earth and genuine. You don't see a lot of that on tv now. I know reality television is supposed to be for entertainment but how women are being portrayed sometimes is not right to me. I have stopped watch a lot of those shows because I just see women tearing each other down, calling each other outside of their name, being very disrespectful and ...

On A Personal Note...

It is currently 12:45am and I just finished twisting my hair and kind of forgot I had a post that is supposed to go up today lol! I had something else planned for today but just wanted to be personal today. I had the most amazing weekend and just still thinking about it. I attended The Fearless Conference in Philly but I was doing my first Instagram takeover during the conference!! A little while back, Ahiyana Angel of Life According To Her reached out to me about taking over her Instagram stories during the conference. She first thought of me because I'm in the area and has been watching me on social media since we came in contact at her event, I Need New Friends (I have a post on this event, just to refresh your memory, you can read  RIGHT HERE )! I was super excited because someone thought of me and saw potential in me going to an event on their behalf. I then became a little nervous about doing so. I really didn't tell too many people until everything was all set. I will ha...

On a personal note.....

Funny thing, for the past two weeks I didn't feel like putting on makeup. As much as I love it, I just didn't feel like it. I felt like I was in a funk or something. My thoughts felt pretty clouded and like I couldn't get them together. It felt like so much was going on or I was thinking about too much at one time. Times like that make me miss yoga. I love how relaxing and refreshing it was. I was able to clear everything out of my mind and just have a clear mind, be able to see things clearly. I often go outside for a walk on my lunch to get some fresh air and help to clear all these thoughts. Sometimes I go somewhere quiet and just listen to the quietness. I love to do that, just sit and be still. It is really relaxing and helps me a lot. I'm speaking on this to say that is okay to frustrated by life sometimes. It may lead to breakthrough or new discovery. Being in this kinda funk inspired me in a way. I feel like I discovered something about myself and really learnin...

On a personal note....

Listening to this rain has me thinking about stuff. These everyday problems that I have going on are only a fraction of what other people are going through and what is going on around the world. Innocent lives are being taken, having an illness that you're not sure can be cured, people can't find jobs or have health coverage. It just seems like the news is never good news anymore. You never really hear anything good. I'm almost afraid to step outside sometimes. Life is very unpredictable and people should learn to appreciate what they have more often and not take things are granted. Life isn't all rainbows and sunshine all the time, sometimes I wish it was. And another thing, what is going on with today's music?? I love all kinds of music but it seems like anyone and everyone is getting a record deal, putting out songs that make no sense. Of course I love a catchy beat but it's lyrics with me. If I can't understand the message you're trying to put acro...
