Hey guys!! This post is going to be on my Mani and Pedi routine that I do at home. Also in this post will be my DIY Hand and Foot scrub that I have been using and loving! I used to go to the nail salon all the time and to save some pennies, I decided to give it a try at home. I felt like a pro after watching the nail technicians do it so many times. I love doing this at home because it is so relaxing and you're saving money. Plus it gives your practice at trying out nail designs. The only thing I wish I had at home was the massage chair! I try to do my mani/pedi once a week, sometimes I don't for two weeks. Here are the products I use.
I normally start with the pedicure. I do all this in my bathroom.
1. I fill up my tub with warm water and put in my Heel to Toe Invigorating Foaming Foot Soak. I got this Sally's and love it. It smells so good and makes you feel relaxed.
2. I take off any polish that may be still on my nails with Target Brand Nail Polish Remover. I'm open to suggestions on other nail polish removers. I really like this one.
3. After taking my polish off, I would cut down my nails if they are too long and file them into my desired shape. Then I would take the buffer block and buff the nails until they feel smooth.
4. I would soak my feet in the water for about five minutes or so.
5. One foot at a time, I would apply SuperNail Cuticle Softener and Remover to each nail and push back the cuticles and put back in the water to soak. I got this product at Sally's also. It is really great at removing the cuticles.
6. After soaking for another few minutes, I would take my hand and foot scrub and exfoliate my foot. Then I would go in with my Mr. Pumice bar and scrub away the dead skin to get my feet nice and smooth.
7. I would rinse away the scrub, dry my feet and put either the Almond Oil or Sally Hansen Cuticle Massage Cream on my cuticles and moisturize with Vaseline's Cocoa Butter. I have not found a foot cream to keep my feet moisturized. I'm open to suggestions on that too.
Then I would polish my feet and move on to my manicure.
1. I would remove all polish and file nails to desired shape.
2. Next I would take the buffer block to smooth nails.
3. I apply Almond Oil around my cuticles and gently push them back.
4. I would wet my hand and use the hand and foot scrub for about a minute then rinse.
5. I would dry my hands and apply hand lotion if needed then polish my nails.

I got the cute containers at the dollar store. It came in a pack of four. I found the recipe for this online and I didn't exactly follow the measurements and added other ingredients. I made it to fill this container.
Sea Salt (I actually used regular table salt)
Olive Oil
5-6 Drops of Peppermint Oil
I love that it is not harsh on your hands or feet and the peppermint oil just makes it smell so relaxing and sweet. I usually don't have to apply hand lotion after using this because of the olive oil. I'm going to stick with using this scrub for a while, I just love it so much!
So that is it for my Mani/Pedi Routine and my DIY Hand and Foot Scrub. Do you do your own mani/pedi at home? What do you use? Comment below and let me know!!

DeleteI don't give my hands and feet enough love. I think I need to try this DIY scrub because my feet get so gross in the summer from wearing sandals all the time. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading Tanya! Let me know if you try a DIY scrub!!
DeleteI like this. How much salt and oil did you use on the DIY?
ReplyDeleteThanks Belinda. I really didn't measure this one, I just added salt and as much olive oil to cover and blend with the salt. I'll have to do another post with measurements!
