On A Personal Note......

I have a lot of thoughts and things I want to write about on here. Most of the time, I just keep it to myself and sometimes it makes it on here. I kind of hold back some things and I'm not sure why. Maybe because I'm afraid of a backlash or how people may take what I'm saying. I'm trying to really break out of that and just express myself through my words. I am a blogger lol! I know many of you have seen recently that singer Alicia Keys decided to go makeup free. Her reasoning sounded so freeing and liberating and I really applaud her for that. I love those who stand out and are not afraid to be daring and take risks. What I can't stand is people, men and women telling other women they don't need to wear makeup or question why we do. Or those against not wearing makeup and telling others they need to. I have no issue at all stepping out the house without an ounce of makeup on. I'll look like I'm 16 lol but I can step out the house without it. I know some women who will not leave the house without makeup. I went about a month without makeup. I was just in some funk and didn't feel like it. I'm also a Mom and sometimes we don't have time for it lol. I had some guy tell me one day that I didn't need to wear makeup, why do I when I wear my hair natural?? I had to laugh cause my hair has nothing to do with not wearing makeup. I love makeup because it is an expression of myself. Its like I'm creating art and I just love creating different looks all the time and perfecting my skills. You should not tell someone else what they should and should not do. You do not control their life at all! Just STOP! Just like this on going debate on women that need to stop relaxing their hair and be natural. I used to relax my hair and I stopped because it was my choice, not because someone told me to. I have no issue with those who still relax their hair. I am for healthy hair care, it doesn't matter how you wear your hair. I am all for everyone who loves makeup like or doesn't wear it at all. I'm all for self expression. I wish I would see more women be more encouraging and uplifting instead of being so quick to tear someone down and be judgmental. We all have the same goal, to be successful and we can be successful. I want to see everyone make it and you should to. I know in the past I have talked about people, tore people down and I didn't like it when someone did that to me. I am all about being positive, supporting others and just showing that there are still good people out there.

  1. I agree 100% with what you are saying. I hate when people tell me I wear alot of makeup. I could come back and tell them that because they don't wear makeup, they don't care about their appearance... but I don't because honestly, I don't care what they do. I wear makeup because it makes me feel good. It allows me to be creative. But like you said, I can also go out in public without makeup on. I do it weekly. I just CHOOSE to wear it because I can. Great post Drea!

  2. Hey Andrea! I hold back on a lot of my personal opinions and views from the internet because I feel the same way as you do too and applaud you for opening up. I find it very encouraging! Makeup is fun to wear and experiment with! At the end of the day, it all comes off anyway. Thanks so much for sharing your personal thoughts. xx

    1. Thank you so much Liz! Yes that is true. You only wear it for a few hours and you wash it off at the end of the day and start again.

  3. Personally, I think nearly everyone looks better with a little something on. That does not mean we are only beautiful with it on, not true! I just think makeup helps bring out the best features. I would NEVER tell that to someone unless they asked my opinion. Some ppl don't like makeup, some don't have time, etc. etc. Wear it or not, it does not matter to me. I wear it and sometimes I don't. Like myself either way, but feel more like me if I have it on. Totally agree with what you said. At the end of the day, it's just makeup. I don't see why ppl get so riled up about it!

    1. That is true that makeup can bring out your best features. I don't understand why people get so upset but it is whatever we choose to do and we are happy, that is all that matters. Thanks for stopping by Elle!

Sometimes its hard.....

You know when you keep thinking of something and you just feel like you have to get it out? That was me before sitting down to write this post. I had something else planned to write but I kept thinking...sometimes its hard and it just evolved from there. We all heard the sayings, life isn't fair, life is hard and so on. Sometimes life can be hard but we don't experience it for long. There are so many things that I want to do but I know I can't do a million things at once. I can't just pick and go anymore, I'm someone's parent now. There are times I want to but I know things have to be planned out now. I will get to those place I want to go, just have to be patient and plan it out. It seems like we focus so much on what is hard about life that we forget about the easy stuff. We forget sometimes about all the good things that happen and to be grateful for getting through those rough patches. You may not like your living situation but you have a roof over ...

On a personal note....Update on Blogging and Personal Goals

Happy Football Sunday!! I hope everyone has been enjoying the weekend and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving!! I can't believe it is this week! I can't wait to spend time with family! I thought about giving an update to the personal and blogging goals I set for myself last year with the Resolute Beauty Blogger series. You can check out my results post  HERE!!  I completed this in May of this year so let's see how I've been doing since then. Blogging Goals 1. Attend A Blogging Event- Since then I have not attended another event. I was so happy when I did find my one event to attend. I have been keeping in contact with those bloggers I met and reading their blogs. I have been finding events but there are scheduling conflicts. I hope to find another one very soon. 2. Set A Blogging Schedule- I am still sticking to my Sunday, Thursday and every other Friday schedule. It has been really working with my hectic schedule I already have. 3. Change Up Current Style-...

Taking a break.......

On Tuesday I did mention that I had some exciting news to share. I have been working part time for a while and searching like crazy for full time work. I was starting to get a little frustrated but never gave up. Well a full time opportunity came up at my current job and I am now full time status!!! I was just so overjoyed and thankful. I will have a more stable income, I can go back to school and start to make some moves. Then I started to get a little overwhelmed. How was I going to juggle being a full-time working mom, grad student, blogger and balance everything else. It has been a while since I had a full time schedule and based my blogging schedule around my days off during the week. I start my full time hours next week and just need to take a small break away from Naturalle Drea. I really didn't want to because I love this so much but I need to see how to handle everything. I will most likely change my blogging schedule around. Thank you to those who have been encouraging to...
