Playing Catch Up- Bath and Body Works Challenge Results

Hey guys! So sometime last year, I did a Bath And Body Works Challenge on the old formula vs the new formula. I was supposed to update and give results but never did. You can read the original post here.

I used to work at Bath and Body Works part time and loved that job!! I have so much stuff by them, I could probably open my own store lol! They are always changing the reformulating their products to make them better. I was in the store one day and saw that they have new formulas for the shower gel and body lotion. It gave me an idea to compare the old formula with the new one. The old formula I already had and it was the scent Country Chic and I purchased the new one in Twilight Woods. As you can see the packaging is completely different. I was drawn to the newer look because it looked more chic and stylish. So lets get into the reviews of both formulas.

Old Formula-Country Chic

I loved this scent. It was such a nice and girly scent. It wasn't too strong and great for everyday. I would layer the scent by first washing with the shower gel, then spray the fragrance mist, apply lotion and spray again with the mist. This packaging was the one of the first changes they made from the older packaging. I don't I even have any to show you guys lol! I'll get started with the shower gel. Before you needed a lot of shower gel just to get a good lather. I love this formula because you don't even need that much anymore. I only use two small dime size amounts and I can wash my whole body with it. I love the consistency of the gel and it leaves your skin feeling smooth. The shower has Vitamin E and Aloe Vera to help with keeping your skin soft and moisturized. The body lotion has a thicker texture and has Shea Butter, Jojoba and Vitamin E for you skin. I normally use the body lotion in the Spring and Summer time and use the Body Cream when it's colder. I love how the body lotion keeps your skin feeling moisturized and soft. I need to do this challenge again because I did this in November and my skin was looking for more moisture. I found myself spraying a lot of the mist because it wasn't strong like perfume but it did help with layering the scent.

New Formula- Twilight Woods

Funny thing is, this scent came out around the time the Twilight movies started. People thought this scent was related the the movies lol! This became a new favorite of mine! It is just a different scent that was so fragrant but not to overpowering. Along with changing the packaging, the formulas changed too. The shower gel now has Shea Butter and a thinner consistency that I didn't like too much. I loved that you still one need a little bit to wash your body. I did notice my skin felt softer after washing with the new formula. The body lotion has 16 hours of continuous moisture and has Vitamin B5. The texture of the lotion was thicker and I'm not sure if I noticed the 16 hours of moisture but my skin was much softer. The new fragrance mist has the the stronger scent like a perfume and last longer. You don't have the drown yourself in the mist anymore lol!!

Overall, I like the newer formula for the body lotion and fragrance mist. It's just something with me and thin shower gels, I like them to be a bit thick. It does the same thing but I kinda wish that consistency didn't change at all. I think I may revisit this challenge when the weather is more consistently warm.

What are your favorite scents at Bath And Body Works? What do you think of the new formula? Comment below and let me know!!!

  1. I haven't use Bath and Body Works in a long time but popped in the store this past weekend to pick out something for my mom for Mother's Day and I was very impressed with their offerings. I'm not big on lotions or shower gels but I LOVE the fact that they have perfumes for almost all the scents in there now and they are so affordable! I will most def be going back in there for myself very soon!

Sometimes its hard.....

You know when you keep thinking of something and you just feel like you have to get it out? That was me before sitting down to write this post. I had something else planned to write but I kept thinking...sometimes its hard and it just evolved from there. We all heard the sayings, life isn't fair, life is hard and so on. Sometimes life can be hard but we don't experience it for long. There are so many things that I want to do but I know I can't do a million things at once. I can't just pick and go anymore, I'm someone's parent now. There are times I want to but I know things have to be planned out now. I will get to those place I want to go, just have to be patient and plan it out. It seems like we focus so much on what is hard about life that we forget about the easy stuff. We forget sometimes about all the good things that happen and to be grateful for getting through those rough patches. You may not like your living situation but you have a roof over ...

On a personal note....Update on Blogging and Personal Goals

Happy Football Sunday!! I hope everyone has been enjoying the weekend and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving!! I can't believe it is this week! I can't wait to spend time with family! I thought about giving an update to the personal and blogging goals I set for myself last year with the Resolute Beauty Blogger series. You can check out my results post  HERE!!  I completed this in May of this year so let's see how I've been doing since then. Blogging Goals 1. Attend A Blogging Event- Since then I have not attended another event. I was so happy when I did find my one event to attend. I have been keeping in contact with those bloggers I met and reading their blogs. I have been finding events but there are scheduling conflicts. I hope to find another one very soon. 2. Set A Blogging Schedule- I am still sticking to my Sunday, Thursday and every other Friday schedule. It has been really working with my hectic schedule I already have. 3. Change Up Current Style-...

Taking a break.......

On Tuesday I did mention that I had some exciting news to share. I have been working part time for a while and searching like crazy for full time work. I was starting to get a little frustrated but never gave up. Well a full time opportunity came up at my current job and I am now full time status!!! I was just so overjoyed and thankful. I will have a more stable income, I can go back to school and start to make some moves. Then I started to get a little overwhelmed. How was I going to juggle being a full-time working mom, grad student, blogger and balance everything else. It has been a while since I had a full time schedule and based my blogging schedule around my days off during the week. I start my full time hours next week and just need to take a small break away from Naturalle Drea. I really didn't want to because I love this so much but I need to see how to handle everything. I will most likely change my blogging schedule around. Thank you to those who have been encouraging to...
