Happily Ever Johnson: Destination Planning

It seems like Spring can't make up its mind if it wants to stay or not. This weather has been crazy! Well in my last post I told you guys that we decided on doing a destination wedding now. At first I was so against it but now I feel like we are saving more money than having a wedding here. Since then we have been trying to get things together so our family and friends can know how much things are going to be. My aunt put us in touch with an amazing travel agent and she has been so helpful. She answered all of our questions and has been very informal about the whole process. We decided on Jamaica and have been looking at the suggested resorts and different wedding packages the resorts have. I'm getting more excited the more these plans start to fall into place. Now I'm going to start looking at wedding dresses at the end of the month and we need to get on this engagement party planning as well. I can say that wedding planning feels less stressful now (I think I will drive myself crazy with finding a dress lol)! We also sent out our engagement announcements and here is what they looked like.

It took a while to find an announcement I liked and ordered these from Mixbook. They have a lot of great cards for so many occasions. I'm so happy with the way these came out and the pictures my cousin took for us. See you guys Thursday!!

Have you checked out my previous post from my series, On A Personal Note..?

~**Drea Notes**~

I had so much fun spending time with family this past weekend and see my niece graduate from high school!!

Looks like I shouldn't put any Fall or Winter clothes away anytime soon lol!

We're trying to find another unique hashtag for everything, its so hard lol!

  1. Jamaica sounds awesome! Look into Secrets resorts. They are amazing. All inclusive, beautiful grounds, excellent food and hotel staff. I have been to Secrets in Mexico but they have locations in Jamaica too. If you plan to bring your son or other children, it is an adults only resort but Dreams is a sister chain that does allow children. I HIGHLY recommend you looking into all the sister resorts.

    1. Someone told us about Secrets but we do need a resort that is kid friendly. Thanks for the suggestion Tanya!

  3. This sounds simply great! Thanks a lot for these photos. We are getting married quite soon and trying to find affordable Chicago wedding venues for our ceremony. All venues we have visited are way over our budget.

    1. When we were looking at venues, they were so expensive as well. This destination wedding is going to save some money. Good luck with your wedding planning!!

Morphe Brush Review

Happy Tuesday!! Just can't believe Christmas is next week!! Did you get all your shopping done? I did for the most part, now it's just putting things together lol!! Well this post is going to be a review on Morphe brushes. I'm sure you have heard the name and seen some of your favorite makeup artist using them. I purchased these at IMATS back in April and have been loving them. I already want to purchase more. So let's get into the reviews.

Eyes

(M411- Pointed Blender and M200-Deluxe Crease)
It is always important to blend, blend blend your makeup!! I do have a few blending brushes but I wanted to have a few backups when I clean them. I love how soft these brushes are and how well they blend out eye shadows. I mainly use the Pointed Blender(black bristles) for the the outer crease and the deluxe crease(brown bristles) for right above my lid.

Face

I normally don't set my foundation with a powder and wanted to start doing s…

September Favorites

I can't get over the fact that October is here and it still feels like Summer. We had a brief Fall weekend but Summer was like Nope, I'm still hanging around lol! Today I am sharing my September Favorites with a special guest. My son has been wanting to film with me for a while so I decided to let him in on the video. Be prepared to laugh!

You guys may see another appearance from my son, he is so silly and full of energy lol! I think I forgot to mention some favorites but you'll see them next month. What products have you tried? What were your thoughts? See you guys Thursday!

Have you tried the new Starbucks drink? It seems like it is missing something, like it needed to be sweeter or needed some saltiness.
They recently opened a Zara in the mall near me! It is so nice in there, I only purchased one dress.

Fro Butter Emu Oil Review

Well I guess Summer is still trying to hold on lol. I was about to pack away all the Summer clothes but I should leave them out I guess. I'll go through all my Fall wardrobe in the meantime to see what I'll need when the weather gets cooler. Today I am sharing my review on Fro Butter Emu Oil.

I don't know if I told you guys but I am one of Fro Butter's ambassadors for the next 6 months! I was so excited when I got the email about being chosen. You will be seeing post about their products more on here and my Instagram.
A little background on this company before we hop into the review:
Fro Butter is a Black Owned Business started in 2012 by owners Susana Stewart and Caroline Maina. They were in the market for affordable and organic hair products and it all started from there.
I was introduced to this product last year when I received it in my Onyx Box. I really loved the product and so did my husband and son lol. Taken directly from the site, the Emu Oil is designed…
