The Resolute Beauty Blogger- November 2014

Happy Sunday!! How was your Thanksgiving? Did you go shopping on Black Friday? I had a great Thanksgiving with family and enjoyed some family time. Well I am half way through the year with my goals. Let's see the progress I made for this month. Blogging Goals 1. Set A Blogging Schedule- I have still been sticking to my Sunday, Tuesday and Friday schedule. 2. Change Up The Current Style- I haven't much with my site yet but it is in the works. 3. Learn More About Blogging- I haven't done anymore research but still looking over the information I have collected.  4. Attend A Blogging Event- Still looking for an even to attend. I was planning on going to the Holiday Pop Up Makeup Show but some scheduling conflicts came up so I have to miss this year. :( I am looking forward to IMATS again!! 5. Proof Read Better- I have been really working on this. I make sure to read over my post twice before publishing. I haven't seen many typos or mistakes ...

On a personal note.....Thankful

Happy Tuesday!! Sorry there was no post on Sunday. I was a bit under the weather and enjoying family time. I just wanted to take the time to say what I am thankful for this year. Can't believe Thanksgiving is on Thursday and it will be 2015 before we know it. So much has gone on in my life in this past year that has made me want to throw in the towel and give up, made me feel so defeated and broken. There have been things that have made me so overjoyed and in love with life. Life has just been a rollercoaster and I'm proud of myself for still standing and not backing down. I am so thankful for learning to be patient with life and knowing things are not on my time. Things do happen for a reason and sometimes it's hard to question it. You just have to know that there is always a rainbow at the end of the storm. I'm so thankful for my son who is my motivation to keep going and not give up. I look at him and know that he depends on me and needs me to be there for him. I pus...

Shopping My Beauty Samples

Happy Friday!! It has really been getting cold!! I just want to stay inside with some warm coffee or tea and food lol!! Today's post is going to be from Shopping My Beauty Samples series. Let's get into what I have been using lately. Ruffian Nail Polish in Ruffian Naked Box it came from: Birchbox Full Size or Sample Size: Full Size Price Point: 10.00 Review: I always love when I get nail polish in my boxes. I get to try new brands that I haven't heard of before. I love this nail polish!! Its the perfect nude color for interviews, when you don't feel like wearing color or just for a clean look. The formula is so creamy, you just need two coats. It lasts for a few days and just an overall great polish. I have received another polish by Ruffian that I need to try soon. I would repurchase from this line. Harvey Prince Ageless Body Cream Box it came from: Birchbox Full Size or Sample Size: Sample Size Price Point: 22.00 Review: It was great to get somet...

Fall Favorites 2014- Skincare

Happy Sunday!! I've had another busy day with coaching my girls at a playoff game and it was so cold out there and birthday party. Also trying to get this laundry completed before it drives me crazy!! So here is the second post to my Fall Favorites and it is going to be on skincare. Body The colder weather is not so nice to my skin. I need to use something heavy to help keep my skin moisturized and soft. I just picked up the Nivea Essentially Enriched lotion and have been loving it so far. My skin is so soft and stays moisturized and doesn't get ashy lol. Its also good to reach for a good body cream or body butter to help your dry skin. I love the ones from Bath and Body Works. It is also good to switch up your body cleansers when it gets cooler out. I still use a shower gel but will reach more for body creams to wash with. They are so moisturizing and help with keeping the moisture in your skin. Its also important to exfoliate your skin to help get rid of the dead...

Kiss Insta Wave Automatic Curler Review*

Happy Friday!! I have had a crazy day and still have stuff to do. I finally have my computer back but the software for my web cam was not on here!! So I had to go get my boyfriend's iPad and then it was time to pick up my son from school and I had to wait until someone was home to occupy the little guy lol. Also trying to get clothes folded, put away and laundry done lol!! So this post is going to be a review on the new Kiss Insta Wave Automatic Curler. *This was provided for review by BrandBacker and my opinion is based on using this product. Grab a snack because this is going to be picture heavy and maybe a little long. Powered by BrandBacker* Here is the product still in the packaging. According to the Kiss site,   It’s quick and easy to get salon-quality curls with the revolutionary new InstaWave by KISS. Just push the button to style any type of hair effortlessly. In order to use this product, I had to straighten my hair. Its a great time during the year and...

Fall Favorites 2014- Makeup

Happy Tuesday!! Hope you guys are enjoying the week so far. I decide to break this post into 3 separate ones and today I will be talking about my favorite Fall makeup products!! Face  During the warmer seasons, I will use a tinted moisturizer as my everyday. I love how lightweight they are and the added SPF. When it starts to get cooler, I will grab for my BB Cream and Liquid Foundation. I love the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream for everyday. It gives a bit more coverage and has amazing benefits for the skin. I have yet to use my MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation but I will soon.  Bronzers I put away my shimmery bronzers and reach for my matte bronzers in the Fall. I love my Too Face Chocolate Soleil bronzer, I have talked about it several times on here. Hoola by Benefit is a new one for me. I received it when I was selected to host a Beauty Bash. I have only used this once but will do a full review when I use it a few more times. Eyes ...

Herbal Essences The Sleeker,The Butter Review

Happy Friday!! It has been so windy today!! Well this post is going to be on the new co-wash I have been using on my hair by Herbal Essences. I briefly mentioned this in my updated hair routine and said that I would review it as soon as I started using it. So let's get into my thoughts on this hair product. I was previously using the As I Am Coconut co-wash and loved using it. I was starting to run low and wanted to try something new. Of course I'm always in Target and saw this conditioner. When I first started to wear my hair natural, I was using the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner because it was highly recommended. That stuff worked so well with my hair so I had to give this a try. The main ingredient is Cupuacu (koo-poo-ah-soo) which is supposed to help with dry and frizzy hair. Cupuacu is found in the Amazon and I have seen this pop up in a few other hair care products. This conditioner smells amazing. It has a sweet scent but its not overpowering and too...

New Skincare Products and Reviews

Happy Tuesday, almost Wednesday lol!! It was busy day for me. My son was off from school so we went to go vote and did food shopping and I was trying to cook and clean up while he was making a mess with his toys lol!! I finally got a chance to be by myself and get this post up. This is going to be on some skincare products that I have picked up in the past month or two and have been using for a while. So let's get into the reviews!! L'Oreal Paris Active Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 I was in Walmart and it was hard trying to find a moisturizer to try out. There were so many to choose from and it took me a while. I picked this one up because of the SPF and the price of it too lol. With the colder months ahead, I need a heavier moisturizer for my face because it gets so dry. This has been working very well. My skin is so soft, it stays moisturized all day and its not heavy on my skin. The only thing about it is that my T-Zone gets a bit oily but overall, I love my new moi...

On a personal note....

Happy Sunday!! I'm currently watching my team right now and hoping they win today. I was mapping out posts for this month and just wanted to do a personal one today. There has been so much going on lately and I'm proud of myself that I keep moving and pushing. I just felt like somewhere I lost my drive and focus. I was feeling a bit lost about my career path and what I wanted to do and it scared me a bit. For one, my age and worried about where to start. I know what I love so much and what I hate doing. It's just a matter of narrowing it down. I had a thought of going back to school for journalism. I was thinking of expanding myself to writing beauty related articles for magazines and improving how I write on this blog. Then I was thinking hard about going back for my masters. Would it make me more marketable to companies? Would it better my carrer path? But the thought of doing homework again and writing papers made me stand off a bit. The job market now is so hard, I'...
