The Resolute Beauty Blogger- October 2014

Happy Sunday!! So mad my team lost today!! Well I did slack off some this month on my goals. Things have been a little crazy and readjusting my schedule. I think I made some progress on a few goals. Blogging Goals 1. Set a blogging schedule- Still sticking to my Sunday, Tuesday and Friday. I've been planning posts for next month already. 2. Get calendar and blogging book- Still using them too, really keeps me organized and helps with posting. 3. Change up current style-  This is still in the works. I really want to change how my blog looks and how the post look.  4. Attend a blogging event- I found a natural hair brunch to attend next month but when I went to buy my tickets, it was sold out! I plan on going to The Holiday Pop Up Makeup Show in NYC this coming December. I'm still searching for an event. 5. Proof read better- I have been reading my posts out loud before hitting the publish button and I'm seeing less and less typos. I'm getting...

Hello Curlies Review

Happy Tuesday!! I'm actually doing laundry and cooking too lol!! This post is going to be a review on Hello Curlies. *I received these products for testing purposes and this is my opinion on the products after using them.* This is a new company that launched styling products for curly hair. They actually started following me on Instagram one day and I followed back. One day they posted about wanting bloggers, hair salons and photographers to email them so I took a chance and was so happy to receive these products to review for my blog!! I have been using these products for the past month, month and a half and have been loving them!! The first thing that I love about Hello Curlies is that they do not contain parabens, mineral oils, sulfates and petroleum. That is one thing I look for in all my hair products. Next is the packaging. I love how it is impossible to spill anything if you drop a bottle. They have pop tops and the containers are plastic and easy to dispense. ...

Big Little Lies Review

Happy Sunday. My team isn't playing today but it's still good to watch some football. Well this post is going to be on Big Little Lies  by Liane Moriarty from Birchbox Book Club. This book was a long one, 458 pages to be exact. It really took me a while to read it but was very worth it!!  This book kept me guessing the whole way through on what really happened and who did what. It took me a while to figure out this takes place is Australia, I knew it was somewhere overseas because the children were saying "Mummy." I'm not going to give too much away because this is so worth reading. This story starts out in the beginning of the school year for some first time kindergarteners. It mainly focuses on the parents of some of the children. Drama already starts to unfold before the children go to orientation. I love how the author puts police statements by some of the parents at the end of each chapter about the night in question. It really keeps you guessing about what h...

On a personal note....

Happy Friday!! Its been a while since I've done a post from this series. So much has been going on lately and I've just been thinking about so much and reading about so much. What I'm trying to understand is why people hide behind their computers?? I mainly see it on Instagram with people just being extremely disrespectful and just so out of line. I think it's sad because they are hiding behind their computer. If it was in person, they wouldn't even think of saying what they would type. Everyone is not perfect and the world isn't either but what happen to respect and manners?? People are just so bold these days, it's a bit scary. There have been so many times I've had people look right in my face and not hold the door open or bump into me by accident and not even say excuse me. People will blatantly talk about you and you are standing right in front of them. I'm just not getting it. Another thing I'm not getting is unsolicited advice and people j...

Perfect Palette Tag

Happy Tuesday!! Hope you guys had a great weekend! I saw this tag floating around YouTube and the blogs so I decided to do this myself. I'm getting over a cold so I sound a little congested. I tag all of you who haven't done this tag yet. What are some of your favorite palettes? Comment below and let me know. See you guys Friday!! ~** Drea Notes**~ I was so busy this weekend with working, birthday parties, fundraiser for my cheerleaders and catching up on laundry and cleaning.  My son started Preschool at a new school today! I almost cried but I didn't. Can't believe he's growing up so fast!

Review on Rimmel Products

Happy Friday!! This post is going to be reviewing some Rimmel products that I have accumulated over the past few months. I have never tried Rimmel before reading about them from other bloggers so I wanted to give some products a try. Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Pencils in Black and Nude I have read so many great things about these pencils I had to go out and try them for myself. I got these when they were on sale at Ulta and I really do like these kohl pencils a lot. They glade on so smooth, are so pigmented and have a great wear time. I use both to line line my waterline and tightline. They are indeed waterproof which is great, I don;t want the raccoon eyes lol. I have used the black pencil a couple times as a liner. I'm glad that I have tried these out, they have become a new favorite. Here are swatches of both pencils. Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Quad Eye Shadow in Sun Safari I was drawn to this palette because of the colors. They are so pretty and ones th...

Shopping My Beauty Samples

Happy Tuesday!! Here is another post from the Shopping My Beauty Samples series. Let's get into the reviews! Lulu Blossom Dreamsicle Body Balm Box it came from: Ipsy Full Size or Sample Size: Full Size Price Point:  10.00 Review: This balm makes me hungry every time I open it. It smells just like an orange dreamsicle popsicle or orange cream soda. This product is a multi-purpose one but I mainly have been using this to moisture my cuticles. I love the smooth and creamy consistency of this and how it keeps my cuticles moisturized. I keep this in my purse and during the day I will pull it out and use it. This can also be used on those dry areas such as your elbows or knees and can also be used as a hair balm to tame fly aways. I really love this product and think I would repurchase again. Here is what the balm looks like. Laqa & Co Lil Lip in Pinkman Box it came from: Birchbox Full Size or Sample Size: Sample Size Price Point: 2 Minis for 16 Review: I love...

My DIY Hair Treatment

Happy Sunday!! Seems like the Fall weather is here to stay. I've been loving the last bits of warm weather that we had lately. I recently updated everyone on my hair routine and mentioned that I was working on a hair treatment that I apply to my hair before I wash it. I've been tweaking the recipe and trying different things out and I found something that has been working!! 1/2 Cup of Tresemme Naturals Conditioner 5 Tbsp of Coconut Oil 1 Tbsp of Jamaican Black Castor Now you can use any conditioner or oils that you want but this recipe has been working for me. You would mix everything together in a bowl, apply to your hair, cover with plastic cap and leave in for 15 minutes and up to an hour. This really has helped soften my hair and make it so much easier to wash. I have tried this along with a banana and it really made my hair super soft.  So that is it for my DIY hair treatment. What hair treatments do you use? Comment below and let me know. If you gives this a try, let me k...

Birchbox sent out this email and promoted this giveaway to win a box full of beauty products from Benefit Cosmetics to host a Beauty Bash for you and five of your friends.
