Essence and Ebony Magazine: Best of 2015 Beauty

Happy Monday! As most of you know Essence is one of my favorite magazines and so is Ebony. When I saw their best of 2015 articles, I got an idea for a post. I was going to try out some of these products for a few weeks and post my thoughts on them. Most of what I'm going to talk about is makeup but I have a couple non makeup products to talk about. I held off on the hair products until I took out my faux locs (which I was supposed to take out this weekend but didn't happen lol) So let's get into the reviews.

Best Makeup Primer: Cover Girl Outlast All-Day Primer

I recently raved about this primer in my October favorites. This is my new favorite, holy grail primer. I had to try this when I saw that it helped with oily skin. I don't have to blot my t-zone anymore or only once a day with this primer. It really does an amazing job with controlling the oil. It also gives a flawless canvas for your foundation and hides my pores. It is only 9.00 and can be found at any drugstore.

Best Makeup Remover: Korres Greek Yoghurt Cleansing and Makeup Removing Wipes

I was very interested in trying these makeup remover wipes because of the Greek yoghurt part. I'm always trying out makeup remover wipes and I really like these. They remove everything, even the stubborn eyeliner and very gentle around the eye area. I can't believe I spent 15.00 on these but I think they are worth it. You can find these wipes at Sephora.

Best Body Wash: Caress Love Forever Body Wash

I always love a good body wash. I haven't used one by Caress in a while and have been enjoying this one. The only thing I don't like is the color of this body wash. It looks like blood and kind of freaked me out the first time I used it. I really like the scent of this, it is not too strong and it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. I don't think this scent lasted for 12 hours as it states on the packaging but it is a nice body wash. It about 4.00 and you can find it at any drugstore.

Best Concealer: Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix

When I was in Ulta looking for this concealer, I thought the darkest shade was going to be too light for me. It ended up being the perfect shade and it has become a new favorite. It glides on so smooth and blends out so well. It really conceals and slightly highlights for me and does help with looking more awake and refreshed. This concealer runs for about 13.99 and you can find it at any drugstore and Ulta. Here is a closer picture of the concealer. I have mine in the shade Medium Deep.

Best Lip Gloss: Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer

This was the most I've spent on a lip gloss and I've been hearing so much about this brand. They have a nice range of colors and I went with a nude pink color called Pretty Things. It really does have a hi-shine gloss and is not sticky at all. The wear time is okay, I did have to reapply about two times during the day but overall I do like this gloss. It is great by itself and over a lipstick. This gloss is 28.00 at Sephora. I would love to try more products by Marc Jacobs Beauty. This shade shows up like a sheer gloss on me with a slight pink tint. Here is a picture of me wearing the gloss.

Best Illuminizer: L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator

Everything is all about having that poppin' highlight in the makeup world lol! They are just about everywhere. This product can be used as a highlight and as a primer. I have mine in the shade Rose and I really like it. I have only used it as a highlight so far. It is really subtle by itself. It works will when topped with a powder highlight. L'Oreal has three shades of this illuminizer. This is about 12.99 and can be found at any drugstore. Here is picture of me wearing it by itself.

Best Eyeliner: Maybelline New York Eye Studio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil

I've always wanted to try out a gel pencil eyeliner. I really love this one by Maybelline. It glides on so smooth and really is waterproof. I mainly use this in my waterline and it doesn't run at all. It stays pigmented all day and can be a little stubborn to remove. I got my eyeliner in the shade Sleek Onyx and you can find this in most drugstores for about 8.00. Here is picture of the eyeliner.

So that is it for my reviews on the Beauty of Beauty 2015 for Essence and Ebony. There are a lot of products that I want to try out and will most likely have another post before the end of the year. Have you tried any of these products? What were your thoughts? Comment below and let me know. See you guys on Tuesday!!

Have you checked out my previous post from my series, On a personal note...?

~**Drea Notes**~

It seems like everyday my son's Christmas list gets longer with more toys. Lol.

It feels so weird not having my nails on. I took off my false nails for the Spartan Race and just want to give me reals ones a break for a while.

Sometimes its hard.....

You know when you keep thinking of something and you just feel like you have to get it out? That was me before sitting down to write this post. I had something else planned to write but I kept thinking...sometimes its hard and it just evolved from there. We all heard the sayings, life isn't fair, life is hard and so on. Sometimes life can be hard but we don't experience it for long. There are so many things that I want to do but I know I can't do a million things at once. I can't just pick and go anymore, I'm someone's parent now. There are times I want to but I know things have to be planned out now. I will get to those place I want to go, just have to be patient and plan it out. It seems like we focus so much on what is hard about life that we forget about the easy stuff. We forget sometimes about all the good things that happen and to be grateful for getting through those rough patches. You may not like your living situation but you have a roof over ...

On a personal note....Update on Blogging and Personal Goals

Happy Football Sunday!! I hope everyone has been enjoying the weekend and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving!! I can't believe it is this week! I can't wait to spend time with family! I thought about giving an update to the personal and blogging goals I set for myself last year with the Resolute Beauty Blogger series. You can check out my results post  HERE!!  I completed this in May of this year so let's see how I've been doing since then. Blogging Goals 1. Attend A Blogging Event- Since then I have not attended another event. I was so happy when I did find my one event to attend. I have been keeping in contact with those bloggers I met and reading their blogs. I have been finding events but there are scheduling conflicts. I hope to find another one very soon. 2. Set A Blogging Schedule- I am still sticking to my Sunday, Thursday and every other Friday schedule. It has been really working with my hectic schedule I already have. 3. Change Up Current Style-...

Taking a break.......

On Tuesday I did mention that I had some exciting news to share. I have been working part time for a while and searching like crazy for full time work. I was starting to get a little frustrated but never gave up. Well a full time opportunity came up at my current job and I am now full time status!!! I was just so overjoyed and thankful. I will have a more stable income, I can go back to school and start to make some moves. Then I started to get a little overwhelmed. How was I going to juggle being a full-time working mom, grad student, blogger and balance everything else. It has been a while since I had a full time schedule and based my blogging schedule around my days off during the week. I start my full time hours next week and just need to take a small break away from Naturalle Drea. I really didn't want to because I love this so much but I need to see how to handle everything. I will most likely change my blogging schedule around. Thank you to those who have been encouraging to...
