Ole Henriksen The Works Review

Happy Football Sunday!! My team plays tomorrow night (And I'm hoping they win please lol) but I've been enjoying the games today. I found myself in Sephora a couple weeks ago forgetting that I'm on a makeup no buy and purchased this skincare set instead. I tried a couple samples by Ole Henriksen and have been loving this brand so far. I thought this set would be great to try out more products to see if they would work with my skin.

This set was 48.00 and comes with 5 skincare products to use day and/or evening. I already love the moisturizer that comes in this set and was excited to try everything else. Let's get into the reviews on each product.

African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser

It was hard for me to try a new cleanser because I'm still obsessed with my Aveeno ones. Directly from the Ole Henriksen website, this cleanser is enriched with anti-aging botanical extracts like naturally antioxidant-rich african red tea and Vitamin C. Its soothing, non-drying formula is strong enough to remove makeup, but gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. Regular use will elevate your skin to new levels of clarity and luminosity. I have never tried any products with African Red Tea which helps calm your skin, slow down the aging process and strengthens the outer layer of skin. I really love this cleanser after using it for about two weeks. I love how gentle it is but still gets down and really cleanses your skin. I have noticed how healthy my skin has been looking lately. My Aveeno may have some competition here lol!!

Truth Serum Collagen Booster

I have come to really love serums in my skincare routine. It just took some time to find the right ones. This serum has been added to the list that I can use on a daily basis. Directly from Ole Henriksen, like a daily vitamin for your face, this high powered vitamin C complex helps smooth out lines and wrinkles and prevents further damage. Loaded with antioxidants to fight off environmental aggressors and moisture-binding ingredients to keep your skin nourished and protected, this aromatic serum is absorbed instantly and penetrates to the deeper layers of the skin to provide long term results. Sensitive skin prone to irritation will benefit immensely from the calming. This serum helps keep my skin moisturized and looking so youthful. It really absorbs into my skin and doesn't leave a oily or greasy feeling.

Ultimate Lift Eye Gel

I was happy to see this in the kit because I have been on the hunt for a nighttime eye cream or gel. Wake up to younger-looking, refreshed eyes. This new and improved formulation targets the entire eye region to dramatically lift, firm and de-puff while you sleep. Powered by our proprietary ultimate firming complex of bio peptides and hyaluronic acid to lift the sagging eye lid and brow, restore elasticity and diminish crows feet and wrinkles. Expertly balanced with soothing cucumber extract and micro algae, the cooling silky-gel wraps the delicate eye region to soothe and de-puff on contact. An overnight moisture barrier plumps skin with hydration. By morning, your youthful wide eyed appearance is restored. This eye gel smells like cucumbers which is really refreshing before going to sleep. I love how it has a little bit of a cooling feeling when applying and it absorbs in nicely. I don't look so tired when I wake up in the morning but it's not like the results described on the site. I have only been using these products for about two weeks so maybe I'll see more results in another two. Overall I really do like this eye gel.

Invigorating Night Treatment

I was a little confused on what this product was in the set. I thought it was a mask or moisturizer but it is neither lol. From the website, this overnight resurfacer accelerates cell turnover to dramatically smooth texture & fine lines, even skintone & minimize appearance of pores with a 12 source AHA complex including glycolic, lactic & citric acids. Suspended in soothing purified algae & vitamin e, this concentrated blend delivers rapid results without irritation. Wake up to radically smoother, younger looking skin. This is basically a nighttime serum to help repair your skin from the harsh elements from the day. One tip is not to use this after exfoliating your skin, it stung a little but didn't irritate my skin. It feels so cool when I apply it and it makes my skin feel very soft. I have noticed that the pores on and around my nose don't appear as large and my skin looks amazing when I wake up in the morning. I really love this treatment.

Sheer Transformation

I previously tried a sample of this moisturizer after redeeming my points at Sephora sometime last month and fell in love with this! My skin gets so dry when Fall and Winter hit and this has been doing an amazing job with keeping my skin moisturized. This product was one of the reasons I picked up this set! So sheer in texture, this luxurious oil-free cream feels light and silky as it penetrates the skin and helps fade discolorations such as freckles, age spots and sun damage without the use of chemicals. Instantly nourishes and retexturizes the skin, smoothes facial lines and provides intense free radical protection to prevent further damage. I still get pretty oily in my T-zone but this moisturizer settles into the skin and leaves my skins feeling so smooth. This is my new favorite!!

So that is it on the reviews of these Ole Henriksen products. I really love all of them and would repurchase the full size. Have you tried any of these skincare products? What were your thoughts? Comment below and let me know! Enjoy the week and see you Thursday!

Sometimes its hard.....

You know when you keep thinking of something and you just feel like you have to get it out? That was me before sitting down to write this post. I had something else planned to write but I kept thinking...sometimes its hard and it just evolved from there. We all heard the sayings, life isn't fair, life is hard and so on. Sometimes life can be hard but we don't experience it for long. There are so many things that I want to do but I know I can't do a million things at once. I can't just pick and go anymore, I'm someone's parent now. There are times I want to but I know things have to be planned out now. I will get to those place I want to go, just have to be patient and plan it out. It seems like we focus so much on what is hard about life that we forget about the easy stuff. We forget sometimes about all the good things that happen and to be grateful for getting through those rough patches. You may not like your living situation but you have a roof over ...

On a personal note....Update on Blogging and Personal Goals

Happy Football Sunday!! I hope everyone has been enjoying the weekend and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving!! I can't believe it is this week! I can't wait to spend time with family! I thought about giving an update to the personal and blogging goals I set for myself last year with the Resolute Beauty Blogger series. You can check out my results post  HERE!!  I completed this in May of this year so let's see how I've been doing since then. Blogging Goals 1. Attend A Blogging Event- Since then I have not attended another event. I was so happy when I did find my one event to attend. I have been keeping in contact with those bloggers I met and reading their blogs. I have been finding events but there are scheduling conflicts. I hope to find another one very soon. 2. Set A Blogging Schedule- I am still sticking to my Sunday, Thursday and every other Friday schedule. It has been really working with my hectic schedule I already have. 3. Change Up Current Style-...

Taking a break.......

On Tuesday I did mention that I had some exciting news to share. I have been working part time for a while and searching like crazy for full time work. I was starting to get a little frustrated but never gave up. Well a full time opportunity came up at my current job and I am now full time status!!! I was just so overjoyed and thankful. I will have a more stable income, I can go back to school and start to make some moves. Then I started to get a little overwhelmed. How was I going to juggle being a full-time working mom, grad student, blogger and balance everything else. It has been a while since I had a full time schedule and based my blogging schedule around my days off during the week. I start my full time hours next week and just need to take a small break away from Naturalle Drea. I really didn't want to because I love this so much but I need to see how to handle everything. I will most likely change my blogging schedule around. Thank you to those who have been encouraging to...
