Mally Beauty Review

Happy Cold and Windy Friday!!! Can you believe it's already February and Valentine's Day is tomorrow? What are your plans for the weekend? Today I will be reviewing Mally Roncal's book Love, Lashes And Lipstick. My Secrets For A gorgeous, Happy Life and Mally Beauty Pro-Tricks Correcting Palette.

Love, Lashes and Lipstick. My Secrets For A Gorgeous, Happy Life

I asked for this book for Christmas and read it in two days!! I couldn't put the book down! This was also the book for the Birchblogger Book Club for January. I opted out of receiving this book again since I already had it. This book is written by Mally Roncal, makeup artist and creator of cosmetic line Mally Beauty. I follow her on Instagram and Twitter and she is just so inspirational all the time and always has an amazing outlook on life. This book took us through her life growing up, how she broke into the industry, how she started Mally Beauty and so many tips and tricks. A quote that had me drawn in from the beginning of the book was "Because beauty isn't just about mascara and concealer; it's about who we are and how we see ourselves". There is always this big debate on why women wear makeup in the first place, why do we wear it so much, we must not like ourselves because we wear it and we should be happy with our natural face. Makeup is an expression of yourself and everyone wears it for a different reason. I really loved reading about her upbringing. Her parents really instilled some amazing values and morals in her life. Her mother had such an amazing outlook on life and taught her so much before she lost her at an early age. That whole chapter about Mally losing her mother and everything had me in tears. I loved how her mother saw the good in everyone and never had a negative thing to say about anyone. I wish more people were like that in this world. Another quote that really stood out to me is "What makes you different makes you beautiful. Embrace who you are, what you are, the gifts that GOD gave you".

I loved how Mally just took chances and followed her passion for makeup. She didn't try to change for anyone and stayed true to herself. I love how she stayed positive and had a great attitude about everything. I had no clue that she did makeup for Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez. She also shares so many makeup tips and tricks like how to get J.Lo's glow and the 5 minute face.

Overall, this is a book that you need to have in your library. It is such an inspirational and positive book. You can learn so much from this book about life and makeup. Mally is such an amazing person and such a good role model for young girls to look up to. Her story shows that being yourself and having a positive outlook on life can take you places and you will have success.

Pro-Tricks Correcting Palette

I was on Twitter one day and saw Mally Beauty was having a giveaway for this palette. You just had the retweet their tweet to enter. I took a chance and was surprised that I won! At the time, I had absolutely no clue how to highlight and contour. You hear that term everywhere and there so many palettes out now just for that! This palette did sit for a while and I watched a lot of YouTube to understand how to use it. I finally got around to using it and I love it.

This palette is to help you highlight and contour like a pro. I got my palette in the shade Deeper and it comes with two colors to highlight and conceal with and one for contouring. This palette contains cream products and here is a picture of the inside of the palette.

This palette is so easy to use and they blend so well. The cream products are so smooth in texture and just glide on your face. I mainly use the middle shade for highlighting and of course the darkest shade for contouring. I really feel more comfortable highlighting and contouring now and can hopefully do it like a pro someday. This palette retails for 40.00 and comes in two shades, lighter and deeper.

So that is it for my Mally Beauty review. Have you read her book? Tried any products from Mally Beauty? What were your thoughts? Comment below and let me know. There will be another post going up after this one with an announcement. Have a great weekend!!

~**Drea Notes**~

I really feel like a parent now. I was putting Valentine's together for my son's class and going to his party later today! He was so excited this morning!

I'm looking forward to seeing some stuff from the NBA All-Star weekend. Kinda sad that football season is over already.

  2. I knew that Mally did Beyonce's makeup once upon a time in her career. I've actually seen her a few times on daytime talk shows like "The Wendy Williams Show" and she does such an unbelievably good job of making makeup application look effortless - like anyone can do it. I like that the book isn't all about makeup and she fused some of her upbringing and back story in it as well. Good review.

Sometimes its hard.....

You know when you keep thinking of something and you just feel like you have to get it out? That was me before sitting down to write this post. I had something else planned to write but I kept thinking...sometimes its hard and it just evolved from there. We all heard the sayings, life isn't fair, life is hard and so on. Sometimes life can be hard but we don't experience it for long. There are so many things that I want to do but I know I can't do a million things at once. I can't just pick and go anymore, I'm someone's parent now. There are times I want to but I know things have to be planned out now. I will get to those place I want to go, just have to be patient and plan it out. It seems like we focus so much on what is hard about life that we forget about the easy stuff. We forget sometimes about all the good things that happen and to be grateful for getting through those rough patches. You may not like your living situation but you have a roof over

On a personal note....Update on Blogging and Personal Goals

Happy Football Sunday!! I hope everyone has been enjoying the weekend and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving!! I can't believe it is this week! I can't wait to spend time with family! I thought about giving an update to the personal and blogging goals I set for myself last year with the Resolute Beauty Blogger series. You can check out my results post  HERE!!  I completed this in May of this year so let's see how I've been doing since then. Blogging Goals 1. Attend A Blogging Event- Since then I have not attended another event. I was so happy when I did find my one event to attend. I have been keeping in contact with those bloggers I met and reading their blogs. I have been finding events but there are scheduling conflicts. I hope to find another one very soon. 2. Set A Blogging Schedule- I am still sticking to my Sunday, Thursday and every other Friday schedule. It has been really working with my hectic schedule I already have. 3. Change Up Current Style-

Fall Fashion Trends 2017

I keep saying it but I'm going to speak it into existence, I'm going to New York Fashion Week one of these days. It has always been a dream of mine to go and I always miss when it is or have a conflicting schedule but I'm determined to get there. Speaking of fashion, I wanted to share some of my favorites Fall Fashions trends I've seen floating around.  Plaid Image taken from the web I feel like plaid is one of those classic patterns that is always in style. It may not be in the forefront but you always see it. I love plaid, I don't wear it often but I just love how you can dress it up or down, be casual or dressy with it. I would normally wear a plaid button up shirt but would like to venture into different pieces. Sleepwear  When I first saw people doing this, I wasn't a fan but the more I saw different versions, I started to like it. I like this trend when it is done right. I feel like this can be worn on a night out, something you
