Happily Ever Johnson: Finishing Touches and Bachelorette Fun

I can't believe in 6 days I'll be officially Mrs.Johnson!!! Time has flown by so fast, its crazy! It just seems like I was just starting to plan this wedding and now it will be here!! I honestly don't know what I'm going to do with myself when I'm out of wedding planning mode lol. I know you all have been enjoying this series so much and can't wait to show you guys everything! We are now down to the last little details and things to do. We had our finalization meeting a couple weeks ago and we went over everything that is going to happen that day, I finally gave over my seating chart because it was driving me crazy lol and just what we have to do next. We were doing a walk through of where the ceremony will take place and snapped this picture of my fiance standing where we will say I do.  I felt a little something from me standing on the aisle and seeing him up there. It just felt so so-real, like this was really happening soon,  Soon to be Mr. ...

Happily Ever Johnson: Shoe Shopping and Little Things

I'm so happy that the weather is finally feeling like Spring lol! This wedding is like 2 months away and I feel like I'm missing stuff lol! I was so worried about the big stuff that I forgot all about the little things like labels, favors and such! Ahhh! I will get it together because before I know it, the big day will be here. We sent out the invitations and I love checking the mail everyday for the response cards. I'm also trying to figure out when my bridal shower and bachelorette party are going to happen, both are a surprise lol! I just want to make sure I don't show up in  my sweats with my hair looking crazy and no makeup lol! I'm sure someone will make sure I look good! We both found our shoes for the wedding! I was really trying to find the perfect pair to go with my dress. I've been online a lot and in the stores. I finally found them in Nordstrom. I was in the store with one of each of these shoes on trying to decide on a pair. I had several people c...

So what are wedding traditions?

I saw a post on Instagram the other day asking about what wedding traditions do you think are outdated. It caught my eye and after reading in the comment section, it really made me think....what are wedding traditions? Do you have to follow the old school traditions? The New Ones? Or make up your own? The goal of getting married in the first place is to stay married. You can and cannot follow every tradition but the marriage after the wedding is the most important thing. You are spending the rest of your life with the person you couldn't live without, your soulmate, love of your life. I hear marriage is not all sunshine and rainbows, you both have to be willing to stick together, make things work and keep your marriage fun and full of love. I have seen a lot of weddings growing up and everyone did pretty much the same thing when I was younger but things and times have changed. You don't see everyone wearing a white dress, people are seeing each other before walking down the a...

Happily Ever Johnson: 6 Months to Go!

Did you enjoy all that snow we got this weekend? My son was super happy to get outside and play in the snow! Well we are six month away from the big day!! I don't think I started freaking out yet but probably will as it gets closer and closer. I put up this picture on Facebook on New Years Day with the caption Mr. and Mrs. Johnson in 2017! I have been in full wedding mode for a while and just trying to get things together, make sure we have everything and so on. The invitations have been ordered and I love them! That process was so hard! There were way too many choices to choose from and it was hard trying to narrow it down but the person who I ordered them from was super helpful! She really explained what I could and could not change on certain invitations, how my wedding colors would fit into the invites, how different fonts would look and so on. I was glad that I could make a decision because I honestly would still be looking at invitations lol. I have my centerpieces, bou...

Happily Ever Johnson: Updates

It has been so cold and windy lately, I'm not ready for winter lol. Well, I know I haven't updated you guys on the wedding planning lately and I wanted to have things in place before making any announcements or updates. We have decided to change venues and the wedding back to the states. It was somewhat of a mad rush to book a space. I got a little frustrated at some point because the plans were changing and I was worried about everything and if plans were going to stay concrete. I can breathe now because we officially have a venue! I felt like I was starting all over again with making appointments to visit venues, doing walk through, asking all those questions again and breaking down each price to make sure we were getting the best value and won't spend outside our budget. Our original date was not available anymore so we are now getting married in June of 2017. It was good that we have a later date so we have some more time to plan. So now it is back to deciding on center...

Happily Ever Johnson: Dresses, Website and Engagement Pics

I'm just so excited on how things are coming along. I went to look at dresses again and now its between two dresses. I really love them both so much and it is kinda hard to pick one. Funny thing is, it is not the original style and fit that I thought I wanted. I envisioned myself in a mermaid or trumpet style dress. I even loved a sort of ballgown style. I was very open on trying different styles of dresses. I just need to figure out what I will do with my hair and stuff based on the dress.  I just need to decide on one of them soon lol! This is hard man lol!! I also looked at bridesmaid dresses with my maid of honor and we found a dress for the bridesmaids. I guess I'll go into that more into that with another post. Our wedding website is now up and you can visit us  RIGHT HERE!!  We took our engagement pics and love how they turned out. I'll give a sneak peek later in the post. I really wanted formal and sort of casual outfits for the shoot. I didn't want too many war...

Happily Ever Johnson: Updates

I'm starting to get more and more excited as plans are coming together and we move closer to next year!! I still sit back and wonder how I'm doing all of this but its those SuperMom powers lol! Well we are officially booked for our destination wedding in Jamaica!! Our travel agent has been super helpful with this process and I have my aunt to thank for putting me in touch with her. I love the resort we chose and just excited. My mom has stepped in to help with the planning process and will ask those questions I don't think of lol! I think I have found my dress. The last time I went out, there was this one dress I tried on and literally everyone in the salon was coming by admiring and just loving the dress. I did feel a little something when I saw myself in the mirror and everyone just loved it. You won't see my dress until the big day cause my fiance does read my post lol. Here are some pictures from the last dress outing and I had a bit of an entourage that day lol but...

Happily Ever Johnson: Changing Plans

Happy Tuesday!! I am loving this beautiful weather and hope it stays for a while. I know in my last post I was feeling pretty overwhelmed and getting a little stressed out. I figured planning your own wedding would be stressful but not this stressful!! Well after talking and a few discussions, we have decided to change this to a destination wedding!! My fiance suggested this when we first got engaged but I really didn't hear him. I just kinda envisioned what I always dreamed of and ran with it. I didn't realize how expensive a wedding would be and I just shut out his opinion in a way. I kept saying "Oh, this is our day, not just mine" but I was acting like it was mine. I had to realize how much we would be saving with a destination wedding and how much stress that would take off of us and myself. It really pays to open your mind to others and really listen to people. I just never thought of having a destination wedding but the more I learn about it and research, the m...

Happily Ever Johnson: Venue Shopping

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm so happy that the warm weather is finally here. Today I'm bringing you another installment of Happily Ever Johnson. This past weekend we went to see three venues and it was tiring lol! This process of finding the perfect venue seems to be a little stressful and the most important thing you want to get out of the way. I feel the venue sets the tone for the rest of the wedding planning. Once you know where you are going hold your wedding, the other planning such as colors, wedding dress and center pieces can be determined. We plan on getting married at the church and then holding the reception in a separate venue. We are also open to having everything all in one place. When we were looking at venues, we based it off searching online and recommendations from other married couples. It is nice to look at the pictures online but better to see the venue in person. I look for visuals and places to take pictures. Are there outdoo...

Happily Ever Johnson:Just Engaged, so now what?

Happy Snowy Friday!! The snow is really starting to come down and it looks like I'll be snowed in for my birthday! I can always celebrate another weekend but was looking forward to this weekend. Well I hope you got the chance to watch my engagement story. You can see that post  HERE!!  Well I'm bringing the first post to my new series, Happily Ever Johnson(that is going to be my new last name lol). I'll be taking you guys along the whole planning process until the big day. Since we just engaged we've been doing a lot of talking about everything. It was just like where do we start with the whole process?? I found The Knot.Com  and that website is just amazing!! It has everything and is very helpful! You can view different venues, make your guest list, and view pictures of just about everything. I love that it gives you a to-do list for things you should be doing every month up until the big day. Here is a snap shot of our checklist. They have so many articles an...
