My Makeup Story Tag

Hey guys! While my crazy computer is out of commission for a while, I thought I would do a fun tag. I was surfing the web and came across a few that I saw other YouTubers and Bloggers do. I decided to start with this one first.     1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup? I would say I was about 15. All I knew how to do was put on eyeliner (and I had every color), mascara and lip gloss.   2. How did you get into makeup? One of my friends used to put on her makeup before school and we would all watch her lol. I thought it looked nice and I was a girl, I wanted to wear it.   3. What are some of your favorite brands? Mac, Nyx, Maybelline, Too Faced, Benefit, Revlon, Cover Girl, Jesse's Girl, Makeup Forever, and so much more lol!   4. What does makeup mean to you? It's a form of expression and feeling good. I love enhancing what I already have and looking my age since people still mistake me for a teenager lol!   5. If you could only we

On a personal note....Special 1 Year Blog Anniversary!!!

So today is when I started my blog and made my first post. I was so excited and had no clue what I was getting myself into. The idea came to me when I was still on my couch folding laundry on my day off. I felt like something was missing in my life. I was subscribed to these beauty boxes, went to my first makeup show a few months ago and had no outlet to talk about the things I love so much. I was also on my natural hair journey around that time. I decided to stop straightening my hair and was trying to figure how to care for my hair. I wanted something for myself outside the world of motherhood and relationships and working. So I decided to start blogging. I thought this was going to be so easy. Boy was I wrong. It is a lot of work and dedication. I wasn't thinking when I first chose my name and URL address. I thought I was going to cater to working moms like myself but it didn't go that way. I did start another blog before this one but gave up after a month because no one was

Shopping My Beauty Samples

Hey guys! I'm back with another post in this series. I have used a few items over the past couple months so let's get right into the reviews. Harvey Prince Hello Perfume Box it came from: Birchbox Full Size or Sample Size: Sample Size Price Point: 55.00 Review: I have enjoyed every perfume I have received from this company and this one included. This was more of a Fall scent to me but I enjoyed using it. It is a pretty strong scent but not too much for everyday wear. I think I may invest in this one, I really liked the fragrance. Lierac Paris Cleansing Water Box it came from: Birchbox Full Size or Sample Size: Sample Size Price Point: 24.00 Review: I ran out of my Sephora Cleansing water and this sample came just in time. I use this after cleansing my face to make sure I got all the makeup off and as a night time toner. I really like using this. It works just as well as my Sephora one. It gets the makeup and dirt that I left behind and is gentle on my skin.

On a personal note....

Listening to this rain has me thinking about stuff. These everyday problems that I have going on are only a fraction of what other people are going through and what is going on around the world. Innocent lives are being taken, having an illness that you're not sure can be cured, people can't find jobs or have health coverage. It just seems like the news is never good news anymore. You never really hear anything good. I'm almost afraid to step outside sometimes. Life is very unpredictable and people should learn to appreciate what they have more often and not take things are granted. Life isn't all rainbows and sunshine all the time, sometimes I wish it was. And another thing, what is going on with today's music?? I love all kinds of music but it seems like anyone and everyone is getting a record deal, putting out songs that make no sense. Of course I love a catchy beat but it's lyrics with me. If I can't understand the message you're trying to put acro

Lip Product Reviews

I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend. Can't believe it has gone by so fast. This post is going to be on a few lip products that I have been using over the past few months. MAC Mineralize Rich Lipsticks in Good Taste and Bold Spring Good Taste(L) and Bold Spring(R) If you have been reading my blog for a while, you should know how much I love MAC lol. I got these when they first came out. I was in the mood for different colors to wear and I tried on all of the mineralize rich lipsticks and decided on these two. They go on very smooth and are very moisturizing. I love how pigmented and vibrant the colors are. They do have a pretty good wear time and do not dry your lips out. Here are the swatches of both colors. Riri Hearts MAC Pleasure Bomb Lipstick I was so lucky to get my hands on this lipstick. I missed all the other lipsticks I wanted from this collection because they sold out so fast. It was say after this installment of her collection came out

Review on Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Shampoo and Conditioner #NYMBeachBabe

It's double dose Tuesday, lol!! This review is going to be on Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Shampoo and Conditioner. I received these two products in my Influenster Surf's Up Vox Box a little while ago and were sent for free to test out. This review is based on my opinion after using the products. I was a little skeptical at first because I didn't know if they were going to work in my hair but I was pretty much proved wrong. Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Shampoo I love that both products are sulfate free which was great for me. I use a lot of sulfate free products in my hair. This shampoo smelled so amazing, it was like you were on a tropical beach. You did not need a lot of product to wash with. I had to enough to wash all of my hair (and I have A LOT of it) and still have some left to use another time. It really cleansed my scalp and left my hair feeling pretty soft. What sold me on this brand is that I noticed the front section of my hair that d

Review on The Bridesmaids

Hey guys. I am back with another book review! I'm really loving this book club that Bichbox and Birchbloggers started, I haven't read a book in a good while. This review is going to be on The Bridesmaids True Tales of Love, Envy, Loyalty...And Terrible Dresses by Eimear Lynch. When I first received this book I thought it was going to be a fiction novel from the view points of the bridesmaids in a wedding. This book is true stories and the author's own personal story of being a bridesmaid in a wedding. She intreviewed different women and men to get their stories and experiences with being in a wedding. I absoultely loved reading this book. I laughed, cried, gasped and all other emotions while reading this book. I would recommend this for anyone that is about to walk down the aisle or about to be in wedding party. My favorites stories from the book were from the men. It was very interesting to hear how a few men were "Bridesmen" and really took part in the

Review on Smashbox Full Exposure Palette and Try It Kit

Hey guys!! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I'm going to be reviewing a few Smashbox products in this post. I have purchased these products on my own or won them and this review is based on my opinion from using these beauty products. This post is very picture heavy, so let's get into the reviews!! Full Exposure Palette I won this pallet through Birchbox and Birchbloggers. They teamed up with Smashbox and had a Twitter chat on Shape Matters. It was discussing different eye shapes and how you would maximize your look and how to apply shadow. I was so happy to be one the lucky winner of this pallet because I have been eyeing it for a while. This retails for $49 and is so worth it. It comes with 7 shimmer shadows and 7 matte shadows which makes creating different looks endless. It also came with a double sided brush that I haven't used yet and a sample of the Full Exposure mascara that I will talk about later. These shadows are so pigmented and so pretty!! I u
