May Current Obsessions

I can't believe Summer is right around the corner. I am excited because we planned out Summer ahead of time this year lol. We are going to try to do something every weekend that I am not working, even if it is the beach for the day, a museum, just something so we are not sitting around doing nothing. Today I am back with my current obsessions for May. If you missed the video in March, I am changing up my favorites and you will get a video like this every other month. I almost forgot about this and thought it was for June lol.  So that is it for my current obsessions. Have you tried any of these products? What were your thoughts? Comment below and let me know. Have a great weekend and see you Tuesday! HAVE YOU CHECKED OUT MY THOUGHTS ON  THE FIRST YEAR OF MARRIAGE?? ~**Drea Notes**~ I can't believe it is the Warriors and Cavs again in the NBA finals! I was rooting for the other teams but we'll see who wins this year lol.

What I Learned During The First Year of Marriage

Next Monday marks the first year of marriage. I can't believe it went by so fast, seems like I was still planning my wedding and driving myself crazy. I just can't believe it has almost been a whole year as husband and wife. I had my own ideas of what marriage would be like and was excited to step into this new journey. I have heard from others that the first year is not so easy and marriage is a lot of work.  I do have to agree that marriage is work and I feel that it is not as hard as people say. I knew my husband for years and we started off as friends first. I felt it made things easier since we already knew each other so well. I did have to get adjusted to sharing space with someone and having to make room. I have a lot of stuff as you can imagine lol. It was hard having to move stuff around but we made it work.  I feel like the first year of marriage is truly getting to know someone and setting up your game plan of how you are going to grow together and l

Mental Health Awareness Month: My Story

I think this is really the first time I'm writing about this. A lot of people don't know this about me but I am hoping this helps someone that may be going through the same thing and just afraid to open up or talk to someone about it. Most people that know me would say that I am the life of the party, funny, outgoing and just always in a good mood. There are times I am not feeling that way and times where I am putting on a front like I'm happy when inside, I'm really not. I am kind of used to putting on a facade like everything is fine. I'm not feeling it and just don't want to be around others. There are times I just want to be to myself and not want to do anything. It took a while for me to be 100% happy with myself and my life.  It started for me in elementary school. I was in this "la-la land" like everyone was nice and got along. I never understood why I was picked on and people didn't like me. It was a concept that I was never able t

Ivy Tea Co. Trap Tea Subscription Review

I am loving this Spring weather and glad it is finally here to stay! I hope that everyone had a great weekend. Today on the blog, I will be reviewing everything that was in my most recent Ivy Tea Co Box. You can find that unboxing  RIGHT HERE!  Let's jump into the reviews! Red Bone Hibiscus, Cranberries, Lemon Peel, Chilli Peppers and Citric Acid I have to say that this was my favorite tea in the box. It is such a different flavor that took me by surprise when I first tried it. It has just a kick of spice and it is not too much. I just love this tea! This tea helps to improve your mood and the spiciness of the chilli peppers helps to warm you up. I have to say that I noticed that I had a better mood at work after drinking this in the morning lol. Lala Salama Chamomile and Lemongrass I always love a tea that has chamomile  in it. It helps to ease your stress and relax your nerves. I would recommend drinking this tea at night after a long

What I learned from becoming a Mom

I am loving the Spring weather, I hope it stays lol. As you may know, Mother's Day is coming up and I just wanted to share what I have learned since I've become a mom. I just love this pic when he was a baby When I found out I was carrying my son, so many emotions and thoughts were running through my mind. Was I ready to be a Mom? Will I be a good Mom? How do I raise a child? I guess I wasn't able to answer those questions until my son was born. It was love at first sight and I guess the instinct would just kick in. I survived the sleepless nights(still don't know how I still functioned without sleep lol), diaper explosions, spitting up before trying to leave the house and all the fun stuff lol.  I also loved watching him discover his hands and feet, the cute laughs and giggles, when he started moving around and watching him take his first steps. I was just amazed during the first year and was looking forward to continue watching him grow and develop.

Mental Health Awareness Month

I love allergy season, says no one ever lol! I had planned on having a video up today but you guys don't want to hear me sneezing, sniffling and blowing my nose during the entire video lol! I guess with the warm weather comes the pollen and allergies lol. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and to be honest, for years I was not aware of this myself. It is important to bring awareness to mental health because you never know who may be going through it or having a tough time dealing with their health. Mental health is something that should not be taken lightly at all. If someone confides in you, please take them seriously and just be there.  I learned so much from my blogger friend Ashley who runs Don't Die Afraid. She was not afraid to share her story and journey with everyone and it was pretty inspiring. Ashley is a big advocate for mental health and it is just amazing to see the work she is doing to bring awareness. It made me more aware of it and to open up about my

Black Owned Business Feature: Isabis LLC

I wanted to start a new series on here and really thought about it. I kept going back and forth about a lot and thought about starting to highlight Black Owned Businesses every month. The beginning of the month, I will post about a Black Owned Business that I have come across and products I've tried. This month's feature is Isabis LLC. I discovered this candle company on Instagram and loved every candle that I have purchased. I love that you can customize every candle to have a positive message or saying on it and they just smell so good. Also I love the clean, sleek look of the candles so they will fit well with any decor in your home.  I have purchased the Vanilla and Lavender, Coco Mango and Egyptian Amber candles and have not been disappointed. They work well in small to medium rooms and I use two in my larger rooms. All the candles are 100% hand poured natural soy with essential oils and fragrances.  I know there are other Black Owned candle companies
