Happily Ever Johnson: Registries, Rings and Things

It is crazy how fast this wedding is approaching! I can't believe it is almost February and June will be here before we know it! We have done so much with wedding planning and trying to make sure we have everything covered. First we started with finishing our registries. We started them but it just didn't feel complete. Earlier this month we attended a Sip and Scan event at Macy's. They had representatives from different brands such as Mikasa, Kitchen Aid and All Clad to answer any questions about products and to help you pick out the things you would like to put on your registry. They had a DJ there, passed hors o'derves and mocktails. Here we are with the scanner having registry fun lol We didn't have our formal or everyday dinnerware on the registry and finally picked those out. It was hard trying to decide what to go with. For everyday, I was looking for something that was durable since we have a 5 year old and dishware that was going to last. For our

On A Personal Note....

I'm thankful to be seeing another year and 33 looks good! Yesterday I celebrated my birthday and I didn't want to do too much. I just went to Sephora to get my Birthday gift (and brought other stuff lol) and went out and had margaritas and lunch with my fiance and treated myself to a mani and pedi. It was good just to have a day off and relax. It seems like the attitude of this country has changed so much and it is a bit scary. A lot of people have very strong opinions about recent events and what has been going on lately. I'll admit, I am very scared of what the next 4 years will bring. It seems like we are going backwards in time and it is not a good thing. I am scared of how people will be treated, if manners, equal treatment of others, respect and just plain common sense will go out the window. I know that I can't live in fear and chosen to take a positive and optimistic approach to things. I know I can't control, how other people think or their views. I'm ch

Book Review: Dreams Are Built Overnight

Can't believe my birthday is next week, next Monday to be exact! I just want to have a nice, relaxing day. Today I am bringing you another book review (I know, two in one week lol)! I have to say, I really proud of this guy and everything that he is doing now. I actually went to elementary school with David and he was a pretty cool person(and still is lol). Before this book, he started a company called Sleep Is 4 Suckers which sells apparel with a message behind it. David also expanded into motivational speaking and is a pretty dynamic speaker. I really wanted to support him and read this book because I was really drawn to the title of it. I honestly did not want to put this book down when I started reading it. I read this book every free moment I had because I really wanted this information to sink in. You can really visualize what David is saying in this book and really picture the message he sharing. He really does drop a lot of amazing knowledge, tips and advice in this

Book Review: The Glamtwinz Guide To Longer, Healthier Hair

I don't know if it just me, but the weekends go by a little too fast lol! I look up and it is time to get ready for the school and work week. We got a lot of wedding stuff done over the weekend and of course I'll update you guys in the wedding series. Did you guys do anything fun this weekend? Today I am going to be doing a book review and it has been a while since I've posted one. If are you are not familiar with this duo, they are an Atlanta based YouTube sensation that is famous for their long locks of hair and makeup tutorials. They recently wrote a book that gives an insight on how they achieved their hair length. I was really interested in reading this book to learn more natural hair tips and tricks plus I wanted to know how to get long hair too lol. It did take me a little while to read through this book but I'm glad I finished it cover to cover. The GlamTwinz get so many questions on how they grew their hair so long, how long did it take and so on. I am

Happily Ever Johnson: 6 Months to Go!

Did you enjoy all that snow we got this weekend? My son was super happy to get outside and play in the snow! Well we are six month away from the big day!! I don't think I started freaking out yet but probably will as it gets closer and closer. I put up this picture on Facebook on New Years Day with the caption Mr. and Mrs. Johnson in 2017! I have been in full wedding mode for a while and just trying to get things together, make sure we have everything and so on. The invitations have been ordered and I love them! That process was so hard! There were way too many choices to choose from and it was hard trying to narrow it down but the person who I ordered them from was super helpful! She really explained what I could and could not change on certain invitations, how my wedding colors would fit into the invites, how different fonts would look and so on. I was glad that I could make a decision because I honestly would still be looking at invitations lol. I have my centerpieces, bou

Blogger Behind The Scenes Tag

My Christmas tree is still up lol. That is only part I don't like about the holidays is taking everything down. I will get to it soon, hopefully. So during my Christmas break, I was reading through everyone's blogs and commenting and came across a tag Rhondine at  Napps & Sass  did. I thought it was a nice tag so I decided to do it myself! Where do you blog? I am always on the couch with a glass of wine, laptop on lap and sometimes watching tv. I sometimes blog from my tablet or phone but majority of the time, it is on the couch. Where do you find inspiration for your blog post? I try to map things out ahead of time so I can figure out what I want to blog about, what products I want to review and videos to record. I love talking about beauty products that I've tried and love, my subscription boxes, hair and fashion so the inspiration comes from there. How long does it take you to do a blog post? It really depends on the type of post. If it involves a video,

Welcome To 2017...No Resolutions Here

Happy New Year!!!! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday with family and friends! I am not ready to go back to work lol! I really enjoyed being about to spend Christmas break with my son. We had so much fun and I even got back into the gym!! This wedding is in 6 months and I want to be snatched and slaying down the aisle lol! (But I'm serious, I will be slaying tho lol). It was the perfect time to hop back in the very now crowded gym and it felt so good. I just need to stay away from all the junk food I love so much (especially when people bring donuts into work) and I'll be good. I'm so thankful to be seeing another year and starting it off in a good way. 2016 was pretty interesting and I have learned a lot about myself. I went through a lot of emotional ups and downs and learned so much about the power of being patient and waiting on things to happen when they are supposed to. Everyone has their own path and trying to jump on someone else's path will take you off cour
