On A Personal Note...

The only thing I don't like about the new year is when the gyms get so crowded for the next couple of months! Like where did all these people come from? Lol! I will probably be one of those people lol. It seems like 2016 has gone by super fast! It was full of a lot of good and bad stuff and I have no complaints. I got through the year still employed, roof over my head and clothes to wear. I learned so much about myself in the past year and looking forward to applying those lessons to my life. I'm glad I finally learned how to be patient and wait for things to happen when they are supposed to. I can't wait for 2017 because of my upcoming wedding!! I can't believe it is coming up and I'm excited and nervous. I'm taking on a new role as a wife now and I hope just because you make your relationship legal I'll say, it doesn't change us. I know I have been all stressed about wedding planning but the goal is to stay married and happy. I know we will do just that. Christmas has become more fun for me being a mom now and getting to play Santa. I love the excitement on Christmas morning when he wakes up and sees that Santa came. We also instilled in our son the real meaning of Christmas as well. I know it is all about getting that perfect gift, baking cookies, spending time with family and the only time of year that no one knows how to drive but the real reason for the season. It was important to us that our son knew the real meaning about not only Christmas but Easter as well. I think people do get away from that sometimes and know some people may not be so religious. I'm just excited for what 2017 has to offer and I'm ready for it.

I just hope that 2017 brings peace, equality, justice and kindness.

What are you looking forward to in 2017? Comment below and let me know. See you guys tomorrow.

  1. Great post Drea! I have to admit 2016 was not my year. Even though this year had its ups and downs, I count my blessing rather than focus on the negative things. With a new year brings change, and new beginnings. I don't have any children yet, but I know what that must feel special to see your son's face on Christmas morning. I think that's it's wonderful you're also instilling in your son the reason for the season. So many people tend to forget the meaning of Christmas. Thanks for sharing this post!

    1. It is a good year when you got through it and going into the next one. Thank you Jackie! Our parents taught us and it was only right to bring up our son the same way!

Sometimes its hard.....

You know when you keep thinking of something and you just feel like you have to get it out? That was me before sitting down to write this post. I had something else planned to write but I kept thinking...sometimes its hard and it just evolved from there. We all heard the sayings, life isn't fair, life is hard and so on. Sometimes life can be hard but we don't experience it for long. There are so many things that I want to do but I know I can't do a million things at once. I can't just pick and go anymore, I'm someone's parent now. There are times I want to but I know things have to be planned out now. I will get to those place I want to go, just have to be patient and plan it out. It seems like we focus so much on what is hard about life that we forget about the easy stuff. We forget sometimes about all the good things that happen and to be grateful for getting through those rough patches. You may not like your living situation but you have a roof over

On a personal note....Update on Blogging and Personal Goals

Happy Football Sunday!! I hope everyone has been enjoying the weekend and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving!! I can't believe it is this week! I can't wait to spend time with family! I thought about giving an update to the personal and blogging goals I set for myself last year with the Resolute Beauty Blogger series. You can check out my results post  HERE!!  I completed this in May of this year so let's see how I've been doing since then. Blogging Goals 1. Attend A Blogging Event- Since then I have not attended another event. I was so happy when I did find my one event to attend. I have been keeping in contact with those bloggers I met and reading their blogs. I have been finding events but there are scheduling conflicts. I hope to find another one very soon. 2. Set A Blogging Schedule- I am still sticking to my Sunday, Thursday and every other Friday schedule. It has been really working with my hectic schedule I already have. 3. Change Up Current Style-

Fall Fashion Trends 2017

I keep saying it but I'm going to speak it into existence, I'm going to New York Fashion Week one of these days. It has always been a dream of mine to go and I always miss when it is or have a conflicting schedule but I'm determined to get there. Speaking of fashion, I wanted to share some of my favorites Fall Fashions trends I've seen floating around.  Plaid Image taken from the web I feel like plaid is one of those classic patterns that is always in style. It may not be in the forefront but you always see it. I love plaid, I don't wear it often but I just love how you can dress it up or down, be casual or dressy with it. I would normally wear a plaid button up shirt but would like to venture into different pieces. Sleepwear  When I first saw people doing this, I wasn't a fan but the more I saw different versions, I started to like it. I like this trend when it is done right. I feel like this can be worn on a night out, something you
