Happily Ever Johnson 6.4.17

I know this is the post that most of you have been waiting on lol! Hopefully you guys got a chance to check out my PRE WEDDING VLOG.  By the time this goes up, we will have been officially married for over a month and it has been great. We're still trying to get situated and stuff but things have been going great so far. I'm in the process of changing my last name now. But I know you guys are here for the wedding details lol. I didn't get around to taking any pictures myself so I'm using pics that friends and family have posted on social media.

Our first post on social media as husband and wife

Even though we had a few hiccups the day of the wedding, everything was amazing! It was more than I expected. I will say that I had a bit of mini meltdown right before the ceremony started because it was raining. It wasn't too hard but it wasn't supposed to rain that day. I know that when it rains on your wedding day it is supposed to be good luck but the ceremony was being held outside. Everything was set up and ready to go and I didn't want to take time away from the reception to change everything to be inside. It was my decision to keep everything outside or move inside. I said to keep with everything being outside and it stopped raining right before I came down the aisle.

My Dad walking me down the aisle.

The ceremony was so beautiful and my son did such an amazing job reading his bible scripture.

About to jump the broom

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson

We missed cocktail hour to get some more pictures in but I love how the staff brought out the hors d'oeuvres to us. We chose Chrisette Michele's A Couple of Forevers as the song for our first dance.

I got my dress at David's Bridal. I fell in love with it the moment I put it on. It is by Oleg Cassini and I was able to walk around and dance all night. I really didn't want to take the dress off at all lol. I just had to watch myself around everyone because it was a lot of dress and it took forever to bustle the dress after the ceremony. There were so many layers to my dress, it took three people to help bustle me lol. I also went with the blue Badgley Mischka shoes.

They were my something blue. My dress was something new, my something old was my late Grandmom's pearl necklace and earrings and my Aunt's veil was something borrowed. I didn't get a picture of my hair but I did a combination of a couple styles I did a trial run with.

I got a lot inspiration for the wedding from Pinterest. I was on there all the time searching and saving pictures. I got the idea for the place card holders from there. I didn't want the traditional cards and did these little plants with everyone's name on a label. It was also something for everyone to take home.

The inspiration for the cake came from Pinterest as well. The cake was included in our package and it was so much fun going for the tasting. I just brought in this picture to the bakery and told them how we wanted the cake.

The cake was so good and they bakery did an amazing job with the cake.

The cake topper is from Etsy which was my other best friend during this planning process. I also wanted different programs for the big day and found these. I really loved how they turned out.

The photo booth was also a big hit with everything. I met I Love My Selfie at a wedding expo and really loved their concept and I also wanted to support a Black Owned Business.

Overall it was such an amazing day and I loved every minute of it. I'm glad our friends and family had such a good time and enjoyed themselves. We also had a cigar bar outside, I didn't get any pics of it but was a hit! Thank you everyone who was along this wedding planning journey with me. I will probably have another post when I have our pictures back and can post them. I've seen a few proofs and they look amazing!! I am happy that this process is over lol but enjoyed everything!

  1. It was so much fun being a part of your day!! How magical was it that it stopped raining as it was time for you to come down the aisle??

The rain stopped and Mira and I kept the tears flowing as we watched you come down the aisle, the woman we've watched blossom before our eyes. You deserve every bit of happiness in your marriage and life in general. Thanks for staying true to who you've always been. You're a woman of grace and honor and I'm proud of you.

Sometimes its hard.....

You know when you keep thinking of something and you just feel like you have to get it out? That was me before sitting down to write this post. I had something else planned to write but I kept thinking...sometimes its hard and it just evolved from there. We all heard the sayings, life isn't fair, life is hard and so on. Sometimes life can be hard but we don't experience it for long. There are so many things that I want to do but I know I can't do a million things at once. I can't just pick and go anymore, I'm someone's parent now. There are times I want to but I know things have to be planned out now. I will get to those place I want to go, just have to be patient and plan it out. It seems like we focus so much on what is hard about life that we forget about the easy stuff. We forget sometimes about all the good things that happen and to be grateful for getting through those rough patches. You may not like your living situation but you have a roof over

On a personal note....Update on Blogging and Personal Goals

Happy Football Sunday!! I hope everyone has been enjoying the weekend and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving!! I can't believe it is this week! I can't wait to spend time with family! I thought about giving an update to the personal and blogging goals I set for myself last year with the Resolute Beauty Blogger series. You can check out my results post  HERE!!  I completed this in May of this year so let's see how I've been doing since then. Blogging Goals 1. Attend A Blogging Event- Since then I have not attended another event. I was so happy when I did find my one event to attend. I have been keeping in contact with those bloggers I met and reading their blogs. I have been finding events but there are scheduling conflicts. I hope to find another one very soon. 2. Set A Blogging Schedule- I am still sticking to my Sunday, Thursday and every other Friday schedule. It has been really working with my hectic schedule I already have. 3. Change Up Current Style-

Fall Fashion Trends 2017

I keep saying it but I'm going to speak it into existence, I'm going to New York Fashion Week one of these days. It has always been a dream of mine to go and I always miss when it is or have a conflicting schedule but I'm determined to get there. Speaking of fashion, I wanted to share some of my favorites Fall Fashions trends I've seen floating around.  Plaid Image taken from the web I feel like plaid is one of those classic patterns that is always in style. It may not be in the forefront but you always see it. I love plaid, I don't wear it often but I just love how you can dress it up or down, be casual or dressy with it. I would normally wear a plaid button up shirt but would like to venture into different pieces. Sleepwear  When I first saw people doing this, I wasn't a fan but the more I saw different versions, I started to like it. I like this trend when it is done right. I feel like this can be worn on a night out, something you
