Happily Ever Johnson: Surprise Bridal Shower

I knew my bridal shower was coming up soon but didn't know when it was. I was wondering how they would get me out of the house and dressed for my bridal shower because most weekends, you can catch me without makeup and in comfy clothes lol. Well my Maid of Honor texted me one day last week and asked what I was doing Saturday. I responded that if you count laundry then I wasn't doing much lol. She said that she found a day party in New York to go to and wanted to know if I wanted to go. I said sure, the guys were going for their tux fitting that day anyway. She said cool and said what time we were leaving. I was pretty excited because I haven't been to New York in a while. It was Saturday and it was such a nice day. Funny thing is, I brought an outfit to wear to my bridal shower and put it on just in case that day. Even if it wasn't going on, I was still going to wear it again lol. My maid of honor picked me up and on the way she said she had to stop and make payment at the venue where another event was going to happen. We stopped there and she ran inside then came back out and said the manager was going to be while and to come in a wait with her inside of sitting outside in the car. I said sure and when I walked in the room and everyone yelled "Surprise!" I was truly surprised and was expecting my shower to be at another venue lol.

They got me good lol! My family and bridesmaids did such an amazing job with the shower, I loved everything! I was so happy to see everyone! Here are some pictures of the decor around the venue. There was even a Mimosa bar lol!

The cupcakes were so good!

We played a lot of fun games, ate, took pictures and just had a good time. I loved how my favorite color was throughout the venue and decor, even my bridesmaids were wearing pink! My fiance' and some of the groomsmen came towards the end and he helped open gifts with me!

It was such an amazing day and I'm so thankful to everyone who came out and helped throw the shower. I didn't want to be traditional and wear white to my bridal shower lol. I had to be different. I got my outfit from Macy's and shoes from Call It Spring. I did my own makeup as well.

We are one month away from the big day and we're getting excited! I'm down to getting the small details together and making sure we have everything in place! Enjoy the week and see you guys Thursday!!

HAVE YOU CHECKED OUT MY SEPHORA VIB HAUL??

The NBA playoff games have been pretty good so far. I'm not sure yet who I want to win.

I know when my bachelorette party is but just don't know where or what is going on that weekend lol. I think I have an outfit somewhere in my closet.

Sometimes its hard.....

You know when you keep thinking of something and you just feel like you have to get it out? That was me before sitting down to write this post. I had something else planned to write but I kept thinking...sometimes its hard and it just evolved from there. We all heard the sayings, life isn't fair, life is hard and so on. Sometimes life can be hard but we don't experience it for long. There are so many things that I want to do but I know I can't do a million things at once. I can't just pick and go anymore, I'm someone's parent now. There are times I want to but I know things have to be planned out now. I will get to those place I want to go, just have to be patient and plan it out. It seems like we focus so much on what is hard about life that we forget about the easy stuff. We forget sometimes about all the good things that happen and to be grateful for getting through those rough patches. You may not like your living situation but you have a roof over

On a personal note....Update on Blogging and Personal Goals

Happy Football Sunday!! I hope everyone has been enjoying the weekend and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving!! I can't believe it is this week! I can't wait to spend time with family! I thought about giving an update to the personal and blogging goals I set for myself last year with the Resolute Beauty Blogger series. You can check out my results post  HERE!!  I completed this in May of this year so let's see how I've been doing since then. Blogging Goals 1. Attend A Blogging Event- Since then I have not attended another event. I was so happy when I did find my one event to attend. I have been keeping in contact with those bloggers I met and reading their blogs. I have been finding events but there are scheduling conflicts. I hope to find another one very soon. 2. Set A Blogging Schedule- I am still sticking to my Sunday, Thursday and every other Friday schedule. It has been really working with my hectic schedule I already have. 3. Change Up Current Style-

Fall Fashion Trends 2017

I keep saying it but I'm going to speak it into existence, I'm going to New York Fashion Week one of these days. It has always been a dream of mine to go and I always miss when it is or have a conflicting schedule but I'm determined to get there. Speaking of fashion, I wanted to share some of my favorites Fall Fashions trends I've seen floating around.  Plaid Image taken from the web I feel like plaid is one of those classic patterns that is always in style. It may not be in the forefront but you always see it. I love plaid, I don't wear it often but I just love how you can dress it up or down, be casual or dressy with it. I would normally wear a plaid button up shirt but would like to venture into different pieces. Sleepwear  When I first saw people doing this, I wasn't a fan but the more I saw different versions, I started to like it. I like this trend when it is done right. I feel like this can be worn on a night out, something you
