Let's Get Uncomfortable: Mental Health Makeover

I honestly could not wait to do a post of this event I attended this past weekend. I am so glad I was able to attend and support my fellow Brown Girl Blogger, Ashley. I met her about two years ago at a Brown Girl Blogger meetup in DC. We kept in touch through social media and really love how she is so encouraging, empowering and in a way a mental health advocate. I saw that she was promoting her event one day and messaged me asking if I was able to attend. Good thing I was off the day of her event, I wanted to come and support her. I was really interested in learning more about mental health because it really isn't talked about much, especially in the black community and people need to be made more aware. So I did get there a little late lol but got there in enough time to absorb all this information. The event started out with a panel giving their expert advice and information, answering questions and just dropping knowledge on everyone. I was so into every word that was spok...

Shopping My Beauty Samples

It seems like the warm weather is trying to sneak back in lol. I hope the flip flop of weather doesn't mess with my allergies. I haven't shopped my beauty samples in a while and I have a few that I'm going to review today. Fro Butter Emu Oil and Jamaican Black Castor Oil Box It Came From: Onyx Box Full Size or Sample Size: Travel Size Price Point: 15.00 Review: I was really curious to give these butters a try. I have only used Shea Butter in my hair all this time. I really love both of these fro butters. They do not weigh my hair down, they both smell amazing and kept my hair soft and moisturized. The Emu oil is geared towards hair growth and the Jamaica black castor oil is to help thicken your hair. I would repurchase these. Not Soap Radio Joy Inducing and Beach + Sky  Blue Water Box It Came From: Birchbox Full Size or Sample Size: Sample Size Price Point: 16.00 Review:   I love when I get samples of body washes. The names of these are so cute a...

On A Personal Note...

I had another post planned for today but I'm not sure what was up with my laptop and the pictures downloading super slow. I got a little impatient and wasn't going to write anything but something just came to me. It seems like there is so much going on right now, it is hard to see anything that is positive in the world. It just seems like everything is so crazy and out of control. I know a lot of people feel fear, anger, sadness and hurt. I just felt so inspired after attending The Fearless Conference. It was great to be around so many women and no one was talking about each other in a negative way, everyone was super sweet, down to earth and genuine. You don't see a lot of that on tv now. I know reality television is supposed to be for entertainment but how women are being portrayed sometimes is not right to me. I have stopped watch a lot of those shows because I just see women tearing each other down, calling each other outside of their name, being very disrespectful and ...
